Just finished C.J. Box's "Open Season" and my mind is blown (not by a rogue grizzly, thankfully). This book kicks off the Joe Pickett series with more awkward charm and Wyoming weirdness than you can shake a hunting rifle at. Think: Ned Flanders as a wilderness cop, endangered ferrets as plot devices, and enough political corruption to make your head spin. Seriously, who knew rural justice could be THIS entertaining? 😂

Joe Pickett is the bumbling hero we all need – trying his best, making mistakes, and somehow still solving crimes.1 And Marybeth, his wife? QUEEN. 👑

If you're into murder mysteries that actually keep you guessing, protagonists who are hilariously human, and settings that are basically National Geographic with more bullets, then saddle up, partner! 🤠
