fun fact the title is from The Night Is an Ocean by Winter Aid and refers to how Dani missed many things while she was being mind controlled by Freakshow 👀

                              A cursed ringmaster, a nightmare crew; a night to this circus is a night you won’t be forgetting. Restless souls put on their dancing shoes, mindless ghouls have lots of limbs to lose, illusionists, contortionists, tightrope-walkers tightening the noose.

        It was the year 1802 when the misfits that later became the crew of cirque de Morgue met each other. Life back then wasn’t so different compared to how it is in the present day, 1957. At least, any life not involving the circus, was.

                                The Cirque de Morgue didn’t use to be called Circus of the House of the Death. In fact, it was a quite alive place until the Ringmaster found themselves cursed.

          Getting into trouble with rival ringmasters never appeared to be a good idea - but this particular time ended up to be a downright disaster. A bet Reagan thought had been innocent a way, a bet that was supposed to be innocent and harmless, brought down upon the ringmaster and crew a curse they have yet to be delivered from.

                                The year was 1810, and while the circus made money, it wasn’t enough. And so they needed more. They needed popularity. Reagan needed fame. And they could get their fame. Through a bet. A bet that turned into the death of an innocent acrobat, who happened to be the very lover of the rival ringmaster, and the curse that then struck Reagan’s circus.

          The crew of the circus was affected by the curse as well. They can not leave the circus grounds no matter what they try. Any attempt to walk away down whatever path will lead them straight back to the entrance of the main tent. Their skills also turned into a strange and magical (unexplainable, even) ability.
