What is/Casting a Circle

Casting a circle is a common ritual practice by witches. The inside of the circle is seen as a safe, energetically protected space as sacred magical work, rituals, and spells are preformed within the space.

Witches cast circles because casting a circle keeps desired energy in and unwanted energy out. An energetic circle helps us gather and concentrate energy to support the purpose of our magic.

Casting a Circle:

To cast circle, first prepare where you will cast it. Part of casting a circle is about mindset, cleanse your space and protect yourself from unwanted energies using psychic protection.

After cleansing and protection, gather any tools or items you want in the circle. This could be candles, crystals, tarot or ritual cards, etc.

Ground yourself and connect to the Earth's energy. Center your focus and intention on casting the circle.

Cast the circle starting at the top of where the circle will be and walk clockwise around the space. As you walk visualize a circle of energy being created as you move.

After the circle is cast, close your eyes and start to call on the elements, this is known as "Calling the Quarters."

This is done by facing each direction (North, East, South, West) and calling upon Earth (N), Air (E), Fire (S), and Water (W)

Calling the Quarters is intended to cleanse, protect, and ask for help within the circle.

Feel the shift in our body and you space, state your intentions, then preform your ritual or magical work within the circle.

Closing the Circle:

After the ritual or magical work is completed, walk counterclockwise around the circle while visualizing the energy dissipating, and thanking the invoked energies or spirits for their presence.

After closing the circle, ground yourself and release any energy from the ritual.

Gathering A Kind of Energy and Binding it.

I specifically used this to clean my workroom(basement) of negative energy.

Get a pentacle(I made mine), paper(origami) box, quartz, and aspect of fire(I’m using fire salt for safety reasons, aka I don’t want to burn my house down).

Either draw or visualize a black(for binding) circle around the pentacle which you should lay on the ground. Place the paper box in the middle, the quartz at the earth(bottom left), and the fire aspect at the fire(bottom right). You may want to add a tiger eye for concentration. If you do put it at the spirit(top).

Visualize your energy flowing into the circle, and infuse the box with your will. You want to make it suck up whatever energy you want, and not let it back out. Sigils on the paper may make this work better.

Draw fire and earth energy into the box, solidifying it into a strong barrier. Say the spell(You don’t have to. I just feel like it helps. You may also substitute the words. As long as you have the same meaning it’s fine):

“You are not welcome in this space, Your energy I must displace, I am making this space anew, And so I must bid you ado, You may be used in another place, But for now I seal you in this case.”

Pick up the box and break the circle. Then gather the energy into the box. Do with the charged box as you will.

I used this spell right after I wrote it. It seemed to work(at least for me). If anyone has advise, feedback, or anything, please don’t hesitate to say something.

I was hoping to ask, that when you drop of your circles each day, that you take an extra minute to SHARE a a couple other peoples circles too. My team tries to give each and every circle between 7-12 shares to every circle dropped off in my community "The Magic of Circles" but as we become more and more successful we find we are getting 20-30 new circles listed each day, and it is getting harder and harder to keep up with everyone, and already I am starting to have to pick and choose which circles I can afford to run #Empireavenue missions on to get that extra 5-6 shares on the most active circles.. I know we are all doing this for free, with no real idea of why we are doing this, except that it feels like the right thing to do, and one day in the furture it might pay off. I also know you guys are all my work by gathering all the best circles and posting them for me in my CIRCLE MAGIC community... but as I figure out how to convince more of the community to share public, I was thinking we could all start helping each other by not only posting our circles, but giving a few shares to other peoples circles, even if we do not know them...
