i remember MY first manicure
Charlotte Knight, founder and creative director at ciate was at Sephora in Union Square doing free nail art to promote the company's Chalkboard Manicure kit! I was (and still am) a little too embarrassed to admit that literally, this was the first time I've EVER had anyone else paint my nails. And here I am trying to make small talk with the lady who invented the very product she's using on me.
The kit (currently retailing for $25 at Sephora) includes a chalkboard paint pot, four chalk pens (hot pink, light blue, yellow, and white), and a matte top coat to seal it all in. The cool part is that until you seal the art with the top coat, the chalk pens will wash off with water and you can try again. Good for doodling-challenged ladies with shaky hands like myself.
My nails looked great for a fun day of shopping, but I don't think I'd purchase the kit for myself. This kind of reminds me of how I used to draw on my nails with sharpie and white-out in elementary school. Would recommend for anyone going for a fun look or a productive way to doodle while on hold with your credit card company.
