I ship cialinkle but I genuinely don't think that either of them would ever compromise their morals nor plans for the other . They love each other in a weird toxic way but they'd never change for the other
I feel like it's my duty to share this
I thought of cialinkle as a bit of a joke ship for the zelgan hyrule warriors fic I want to write someday but the more I think about it the more I really like it. Both of these characters put Link on a pedestal - Cia wants to possess him and Linkle wants to be him - so I think it would be interesting to see them learn to put that aside together and accept who they really are/what they really want.
(Or at least that's how I see it... I really should play HW story mode again, I barely remember Linkle's chapters haha)

I had an epiphany
Cia: I am morosexual. I am attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. Linkle once asked me what the Master Sword was and now I dream of kissing her under the moonlight.
Linkle meets Cia after first setting out and somehow gets duped into working for her AU
Cia's pitch was something along the line of 'I'm a poor maiden who was locked in a tower all my life and all I want is a big strong hero to save me.' To which Linkle went 'ME ME ME I'M A BIG STRONG HERO :D'
Volga can't BELIEVE this kid isn't picking up on the evil vibes everywhere and he especially can't believe a kid this dumb can beat his ass in three minutes flat.
He has told her she's definitely not the legendary hero at least twelve times and it's not landing.
This is partly because Cia keeps enabling Linkle. She thinks this is hilarious.
Yes she fights Link, no she does not put two and two together, yes she kicks his ass.
Cia creates/commissions her the 'Master Crossbows'. She is committing to the bit.
Linkle really likes Ghirahim because she thinks he's funny and Ghirahim really does NOT like Linkle because she's incredibly annoying.
Linkle asks why they are fighting Hyrule and Cia just says it's not Hyrule but Evil Hyrule, which is why they have their own fake hero. Linkle buys it.
Wizzro thinks this is the funniest thing he's seen in centuries and constantly eggs Cia and Linkle on.
Linkle heroically rescues Cia in battle at least once and Cia, Lana, and Zelda all collectively went 'hope this doesn't awaken anything in me'.
lana and Linkle become instant besties. Yes they only see each other when they're fighting. No this does not stop them.
After Link draws the Master Sword Linkle can never seem to find him so she never sees it.
During Cia's big fat mental breakdown she snaps and tells Linkle she was never the hero and she's an imposter yada yada. Linkle responds with 'well not with that attitude' and promptly 1v1's her.
Linkle joins Team Good Guy after that for the final battle. Lana is Delighted.
Team Good Guy is legitimately surprised to find that Linkle is a real normal living person rather than some weirdo creation by Cia. Somehow this makes her scarier to them.
Linkle still does not believe Link is the legendary hero but graciously allows him to keep the Master Sword since she sucks at swordfighting.
During the final battle Linkle heroically saves Cia AGAIN and when Cia goes '????????' she's just like heroes save people :D you are people :D and I think you're nice and could be good :D I believe in you :D
At which point Cia is like 'crush ended on Link now Linkle is my crush'
And that's how morosexuality saves the day
