Chubtober - Day 6 - Sterek
Spooky Stories / Campfires
It was a dark and stormy nightâŚ
âSeriously?â Derek interrupted.
Stiles gave him a deadpan look. âWould you let me tell my story?â
Derek shrugged and made a âgo onâ gesture, cramming another sâmore into his mouth, his chubby cheeks smeared with chocolate from the dozen or so heâd already eaten.
âThank you. Now, as I was saying,âŚâ
It was a dark and stormy nightâŚthe kind of night that made even wolves shudder. The wind howled through the trees of the preserve like a lonely omega, and the thunder crashed overhead like the loudest of timpani. It was the kind of night when any sane person would be warm and safe in their beds, but not the boy and his wolf.
Derek snickered, but Stiles ignored him, continuing his story.
The boy and his wolf were not inside this night, because the wolfâŚwas hungry! And the boy knew better than to let his wolf go unfed.
âIs this really a horror story?â Lydia cut in.
âIâve seen Jackson when heâs hungry, Lydia,â Stiles shot back.
âPoint,â Lydia conceded, smoothing her top over her rounded stomach. Next to her, Jackson growled at Stiles before cramming a sâmore into his mouth. His own shirt was stretched over the chubby belly he sported.
âOh my god, would you guys just let me tell the story?â Stiles flailed at the group sitting around the campfire.
âGo ahead, dude,â Scott said, crumbs falling from his plump lips.
âThank you,â Stiles said, ânow, where was I?â
âThe Wolf was hungry,â Allison offered, as she twirled a marshmallow over the fire.
âOh, yeah,âŚâ
The wolf was hungry, and the boy knew that nothing good came from a hungry wolf. The cupboards in his home were bare, already having been emptied to satisfy the wolfâs hunger, so there was nothing to do but to set off through the storm to find foodâŚor the boy feared he himself would become the wolfâs dinner.
The snap of the firewood was the only answering sound, the rest of the group listening. Stiles couldnât help but smile.
First the boy thought to try next door. The old lady who lived next to him had always been generous with her food before. Surely she would help the boy feed his wolf now. But when the boy knocked on his neighborâs door, there was no answer.
âMaybe sheâs asleep,â the boy thought, but a terrible peal of thunder echoed through the night, and the boy knew that no one could sleep through that. He looked into the old womanâs window, but there was only darkness inside. He tried knocking again, this time going as far to shade the handle, and found that the door was open!
Carefully, the boy stepped inside the home.
âHello?â he called out, but there was no answer. Behind him, the wolfâs stomach grumbled, so the boy braved his way inside the home.
Having visited his neighbor many times over the years, the boy knew the general way to the kitchen, so he slowly made his way in the dark, until he came upon the kitchen table. In a flash of lightning, the boy saw that there was a lamp and a pair of matches on the table, so the boy quickly grasped for the items and made short work of striking a match and lighting the lamp, bringing light to the kitchen.
The boy looked around in the now lit room and found that every cupboard in the kitchen had been opened, and they were all bare! What could have happened to have led to the old womanâs kitchen being bare? And where was the old woman?
The boy became very worried, but he knew that he would have to press on, for his wolfâs stomach was grumbling even louder.
Now with the lit lamp, the boy turned, only to findâŚ
A crinkling plastic noise interrupted Stilesâs story, and Stiles couldnât help but pause to look over at Derek, where the wolf was digging around in the almost empty marshmallow bag, trying to pull the last confection from the plastic.
âHey, marshmallow wolf! Save some for me!â He said, breaking the spell of his story.
âThose are the last marshmallows!â Scott cried, looking around his chubby body and noticing that the rest of the bags had been completely emptied.
âWhat the heck? I thought we just had a full bag over here?â Jackson said, but he couldnât seem to locate the missing sweets.
Stiles looked at Derekâs lap, noticing the pile of empty plastic, as well as the bare strip of belly that his shirt was revealing. It was hard to tell in the fire light, but Stiles could see that Derekâs belly was rounder than normal, as if he had just stuffed himself, his chubby cheeks bulging.
âDerek, did you eat all the marshmallows?â Stiles asked.
Derek did his best to look innocent, but his answer of ânoâ was obfuscated by the mounds of fluffy white candy in his mouth. He held the last marshmallow in his chubby fingers.
âDerek, donât you eat that last marshmallow,â Stiles ordered.
Derek brought the candy towards his mouth.
âDerekâŚâ Stiles warned. But Derek stuffed the marshmallow between his lips. At the same time, Stiles leapt at his boyfriend, toppling the two of them backwards from the fire and landing on Derekâs big pillowy belly.
âI canât believe you ate the last marshmallow!â Stiles whined.
Derek swallowed, then shrugged. âWhat? You donât want a hungry wolf, do you?â
With a cry, Stiles began tickling Derekâs tender love handles, causing the bigger man to roll around, laughing, Stiles still on top of him.
Across the fire, Lydia sighed. âWell, weâre never gonna hear the end of that story. So I think itâs your turn Allison.â
