Messing around with the new spoonie living app while I wait for my as needed pain meds too kick in. It's a weird and bad time to need any pain management, so I'm very grateful to still have mine -- a mild opiod I take just a few times a month. But even doses like that are being questioned right now as an overreaction to the addiction crisis. Also, unrelated, but my cat is providing some much needed comic relief with his acrobatics so not all is bad haha 😂

I totally had to psych myself up today bc I've been pretty stressed about how busy things are. Three consecutive weeks of travel is not easy with chronic illness! But then I remembered all the positives from this. I already spent a week in a beautiful, beautiful place and got to spend time with my extended family. The conference tomorrow will be a ton of fun, my friends will be there, and since it's an EDS conference people will be understanding. And the week after I will see people very dear to me who I don't see often. In all of these trips I have to take it easy, and I'm just gonna miss out of stuff. But I'm learning from that, and building confidence with what I mange. I'm definitely not gonna feel great during these next few weeks, and I'll probably crash for a while after, but both of those things are things I have experience with and know how to survive! Now to do all that packing I've been neglecting...

Honestly, it’s to be expected with EDS and it’s *ok*. There is nothing wrong with walking the same path twice, and I’m so so glad I was able to put in all that work before I got sick bc it would have been so much worse otherwise! Also I had a pretty awesome time in May and I’m grateful for that even as June has been a struggle. It sucks that’s I’ve been sick so many times these last 6 months, but even having the potential to recover after being knocked down is something precious that I do not overlook

Real quick before the game starts - I am SO grateful to be able to watch NBA games again! Just last year I listened to all the finals games on the radio even tho I was following obsessively. Why? At 2 years since my head injury it still made me feel stuck and drained all my energy. But now it's been 3 years and I can finally do it again. I've probably watched like 25 games in the past two months and I'm loving being able to waste time this way again 💙🏀💙

May turned out to be a great month for me! It's amazing how much I appreciate the tiniest increases in ability & health now. I really believe life is *always* worth living. But I am crazy grateful for every last drop my body lets me squeeze out of this wonderful life. #peoplehopetribe #ChronicIllnessIs

So it turns out that catching a bus, having a meeting (& coffee), and then walking home in 90 degree heat with the wrong size of knee braces right after I woke up was a really bad idea for both my POTS and EDS. I’ve spent the entire rest of the day recovering. My knees have set off a chain reaction of hurt, and I was actually shaking for a while after I got back from the adrenaline my body had to use to keep my blood pressure up. So, noted. There is no way to know your limits without testing them. But I probably shouldn’t take that job I was meeting to discuss - signing up to walk all over the city in the middle of summer canvassing for a political campaign. And it’s frustrating to have my options limited by stuff like this #ChronicIllnessIs
