Over the weekend, I received a touching message from a friend & fellow artist @kamelbuddy. Brianne is a magnificently layered performer, whom I came to know while #directing & #choreographing the Maine Professional Premier of âMatildaâ alongside my #CreativePartner @goodearthyoga; at the @penobscottheatrecompany. Her portrayal of âMiss Honeyâ was so honest and connected, and her voice so beautiful & emotionalâI cried during her scenes (even after weeks of rehearsals & tech). The #TheaterCompanyâled by the brilliant @zippersgraydonâis a stellar ensemble of artists from the stage crew to the administrators, and everyone in between. They gave our cast a copy of BOTH of my booksâI LOVE when artists support artists. Here is the generous note that Brianne sent: âHello!! I just wanted to say that your book has made for a fabulous beach read on the lovely coast of Maine this summer. I love your style of writing â it was like I could hear you telling these stories to me in person. The chapters on your cousinâs coming out and your warrior sisterâs health battles were so touching. And you must come back to Bangor again soon so we can talk more about your high school production of Cats and your Pottery Barn delivery to Rosie. I was obsessed with her talk show!! Thank you for the laughter this book brought me as well as the warm fuzzies. 𼰠Sending much love to you and Jeff! â¤ď¸â PLEASE, support theater & art in your community. My book, #DancingOutOfTheCloset was a way for me to work through the complicated, but all-too-familiar, struggle of #Acceptance that #LGBTQ people feel. Now, itâs time to stand up for #Equality, #Justice, #Love & #Peace for ALL. If youâre called to know more about my story, I hope youâll pick up a copy of my book available on @amazonâlink is in the bio. #Actors #Writers #Dancers #Singers #Directors #Choreographers #StandUp #SpeakUp #UseYourVoice (at Penobscot Theatre Company) https://www.instagram.com/p/CD_bV_YpXAr/?igshid=1wubojzowg4y7
