The “Who Made My Clothes” movement was created by @orsoladecastro and @carrysomers after the collapse of the Rana Plaza building 7 years ago Not only did it take the lives of 1,138 clothes makers in Bangladesh, injuring 2,500, it also exposed a fast fashion industry that thinks it’s okay to pay offshore factory workers little or NO money for us to have access to disposable clothes Fashion Revolution Week (April 19th - 25th) is a week of campaigns and action to demand greater transparency in the fashion supply chain The campaigning organization Fashion Revolution is working to end exploitation in the fashion industry and it’s one of the main reasons why I #chooseused Want to know more? Monday was a spring in my step kind of day. Want to know why? Because Over 10,000 of us are taking part in this year’s @slowfashionseason with @collaction_org . . How bloody fabulous is that? Why I hear you ask? Well, we are doing this because our *clothing has a life cycle: from design, raw material and production, to distribution, wear and waste . . *With Slow Fashion Season, we aim to make this circular by not buying any new clothes for 3 months and instead thrift, repair, swap and upcycle . . *Every time you #chooseused and tell a friend about your challenge, it brings us a step closer to making the fashion industry more sustainable and less polluting . . *For example, with 10,000 people committing to the project, we will save up to 360 million liters of water and prevent 1,4 kg CO2 emission that would otherwise go into the life cycle of our new clothes . .
