apologies for the jojo references, the concept spawned out of JJBA and so some of the exact details of how the universe came about will change but the general build will stay the same

cold: components never met

tangential: a bond which does not fit neatly into any other classification

idyllic: components had a strong positive emotional connection

discordant: components had a strong negative emotional connection

typically, tangential bonds are the result of components who were not very familiar with one another and likely never met face to face or had only passing interactions such as that of acquaintances. such is the circumstances for neutral, idyllic, and discordant bonds in this category.

parallel bonds are formed under rare cases, the result of fusions comprised of alternative universe versions of the same soul.

covalent bonds are the result of fusions within family lines.

The villains were transformed (and also mostly kidnapped) by an unknown figure, being forced to work for her and further her operation to overthrow Peter's hometown by infesting it with plants.
