Phalloplasty with Dr. Chen
Recovery has been going pretty well so far!Â
My mom stayed with me for the first four weeks to help me out with everything (super grateful), but after the first two I’d say I could do most things on my own. Everything went well with surgery and I was able to get the glans at the same time and I’m still beyond and amazed with the results! Everything looks incredible and I’m so much happier.
The catheters, bleeding/oozing, and pain have been the most annoying parts so far. Now all the catheters are gone, most of the bleeding has stopped, and the pain is being kept at a tolerable level with extra strength tylenol and CBD.
Urinating and bladder training have been things I was struggling with at first too. I’m getting used to standing to pee and finding that I have to actually work out those muscles which is new for me. It’s getting more and more second nature the more I go though. I find myself having to start and go as long as I can then stop to rest and go again. The stream and strength both seem pretty strong right now too.
Excited to start working again later this week and get out and moving more. I’ve been going on short walks to work back up to commuting and the city life.
