So I had a lovely morning this morning going swimming 🏊🏻♀️ but then I had a meeting with my Ty Hafan Family Support Worker... whilst I adore Tracey, and our meeting was definitely mostly full of discussion about all the positives in my life, we had the start of a difficult conversation about updating my end of life care plans. Whilst I update my Advance Directive, the legal documents, regularly, I haven’t actually updated my end of life care plan, which includes things like my funeral plan, since my early teens. Tracey recommended we book another day a few weeks from now to actually type it all up; on the meantime, I’m to have a think about what I want and write it all down in my trusty butterfly notebook. I spent an hour this evening on the bench in my garden writing in said notebook. I stopped when I got too upset to continue. Anyway, I’d had a tough time! So, the two lovely carers working today decided that me and my housemates should go on a walk to Victoria Park in Canton and have fish n chips! It was an excellent plan, and really cheered me up (even though my bloody wheelchair broke down at the park and LMC had to come pick us up 🙈😂 ALAC are coming to fix it first thing tomorrow) 😁❤️ I must say that whilst I’m incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends and family, I’m especially lucky that I have such amazing carers and nurses here at LMC taking such great care of me. Danni and Rhi, my carers today, knew exactly when to talk about my end of life care plan, and when to avoid the subject entirely. They knew being outside, in the sun, near nature, with people, would cheer me up. They knew fish and chips would help (especially because I hadn’t eaten all day because of feeling so anxious). And they made me laugh! And when they left today, they both have me a massive hug 🤗. I’m just really glad I have such wonderful, kind people looking after me ❤️ and I’m sending a big thank you to them both! #fishnchipsinthepark #cheeredmeup #whataday #palliativecarewarrior #endoflifecareplan #mycarersareamazing #mycarersareheroes #mycarersareangels #blessed #overall #todaywasagoodday❤️ (at Victoria park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxdSdxwhN7q/?igshid=nrwcpmtreth1
