I'm not really one for writing but Valentine's Day flew right past me and I just fell that I want to put in my 2 cents...

Let me start off by saying I hardly believe in Valentine's Day, well not so much in the day itself but what society made of this day out to be. I was in a relationship for years and I never expected anything from my partner on Valentine's Day simply cause at that time I knew how I felt about him and I knew how he felt about me, however I must say I always felt extra special if he showed up with roses or something small cause it just reminded me of how much I meant to him.

Allot of people completely miss the point of this day...yes you need to remind and show the special person in your life how much they mean to you but you do not have to buy this person the world on this specific day and on the 15th Feb (just a few hours later) you cheat on your partner. I mean does that brand new bag or amazing perfume you just receive mean anything if he/she just buys it cause the rest of the world has put so much meaning into one day in the year that was randomly selected.

I just feel that most of the people in my life completely miss the point of this day...its not the amount you receive, its how you receive it.

Hey :) I know exactly how you felt. Suicide was also an option for a while just because I couldn't deal with the pain of knowing he had preferred some other girl over me. I kept asking myself what I had done wrong, and I started telling myself it was because I wasn't pretty enough, and that she was better than me. It was a horrible period to go through.
