Silly fish spotlight! Chaunacops fish
Almost looks it's made of felt--Chaunacops is a genus of marine ray-finned fishes belonging to a family referred to as "the sea toads." Their home is the Indo-West Pacific, southeastern Pacific and western Atlantic oceans. Little is known about them, they live in the deep sea.
I'm enjoying the amazing high-quality images of these sea creatures that an expedition sighted in the underwater mountains off the coast of Chile. Over 100 suspected new species were found in February 2024.
If there are no fans of chaunacops coloratus in the world, I’m dead
