seeing all your tags on charmed stuff and i'm curious what have you actually seen of the show or what are you missing and have yet to watch? like which episodes or seasons have you not watched yet? and do you plan to watch beginning to end, in order, every episode?
Hi! I watched Charmed regularly while Seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6 were airing... so that's from 2000 through 2004. Seasons 1, 2 and 7, 8 were not as familiar to me. I think I caught some scenes here and there of Seasons 1/2/7/8 when they were airing, but my memory is rusty. I can't remember if I fully watched the series finale when it aired in 2006.
I decided in late September/early October last year/2025 to rewatch the episodes with Chris through the end of S6 (finished rewatching Season6 Oct18/19). Not sure what triggered me to rewatch some of Charmed, but I'm glad I did. I guess I was feeling nostalgic and I had good memories of Chris being an interesting character and I needed to refresh my memory on his character's arc on the show.
After finishing rewatching Season 6, I rewatched other Charmed episodes + watched the episodes I never saw before. I admittedly stopped watching the show in Season 7-- saw the first 3 episodes of Season 7-- I felt the absence of dark future!Chris and couldn't muster up enough interest in continuing watching back then. I think I found out that Drew Fuller would be in 7x07 so I decided to watch that episode despite not knowing what happened in 7x4-7x6.
The "root pain" line was one of those things I remembered after all those years. When I rewatched 7x07, I was waiting for that line... it was an interesting memory recall thing since I could "hear" how that root pain line was said from my old memory from 2004 (when 7x07 first aired)...when I rewatched that scene in the vision quest, I was all omg, that's how I remembered that moment "I'm your root pain, okay." *not getting emotional, not at all* 🥺🥺
But *now*, I have watched pretty much most of the episodes of Charmed thanks to the CW Forever streaming channel and purchasing the digital versions of some episodes. The Peacock NBC app has all the Charmed episodes too, so that's another place I go to as well. I know what basically happened in each season now despite the few episodes I haven't seen yet.
I haven't seen Season 2's "Heartbreak City" yet, and I have to finish watching "The Painted World" too.
I only watched the beginning of "When Bad Warlocks Go Good" from Season 1, so I have to finish that one too.
Random-- I recalled a scene of Piper sticking her head in the freezer, but since it was years ago, I couldn't remember what episode that was from.
Maybe I caught some of that episode during the original airing or a rerun that aired not long after... but I was glad to finally solve that mystery when I rewatched S1's Wendigo a few months ago... and yeah, that freezer scene was pretty memorable-- not surprised it stuck in my mind after all these years. Poor Piper. Wendigo happens to be one of my favorite Season 1 episodes now. :)
I do like S7's villain, Zankou. I prefer him at least to the "Ultimate Power" deal in Season 8.
Also, the Future!Wyatt episode was a good one. I'm full of ideas for Chris & Wyatt fics lately, so the "Imaginary Fiends" ep is helpful in giving me a foundation of what the changed future!Wyatt is like (the series finale of course is helpful for that too).
Sorry this came out long. Hopefully this made sense.
Thank you for your Ask. :)
Chris & Wyatt taking over my writing muse. ✍️ Stop it. 😦
I love Prue, but since I was watching the show regularly more so during Paige's seasons (through the end of Season 6), the Piper, Phoebe & Paige dynamic feels more familiar to me. And I like Paige's quirkiness at times. Her super witch era was very memorable to me.
Piper is my favorite sister-- back then and even now upon rewatch. Piper & Leo's relationship was probably one of my first OTPs from a TV Show.
But I've grown to appreciate Prue upon watching Seasons 1 & 2 properly. I've come to really like Phoebe's characterization in Seasons 1 & 2-- So I get some fans who have that same opinion and maybe liked her a little less during the Cole years? I was so into the Phoebe/Cole relationship and drama during those years Cole was on the show, but I think it was best for Phoebe's emotional health to have it end.
