Favorite mission from DA2?

This one is Difficult like I guess maybe my favourite mission is the last one because!! The Chantry goes boom and you get to kill Meredith and other templars and tell your companions you love them and the ending battle is one of the Most fun.

Who do you want to see return in the next game?

Zevran because please bring him back I love him. Also Shaper Valta because there were Exciting things going on when we left her and she’s really pretty and I want to see more of her face and also please can she be a romance option in DA4???

Day 2967 of Karlach fighting the Blood War, if her maths is right. Never her best subject, but at least tracking the days is something to do on the days when she’s not quite so sick of being alone that she leaves her tent to get bullied by the rest Zariel’s forces. Maybe for Day 3000, she can throw a party. Invite all the guys she can stand at least half the time. There must be, what, at least four of them! And hey, it’s over a month away! Plenty of time to make new friends! Gods, she’s lonely.

Okay so we’re going one line recently posted and one line upcoming, because otherwise I have to remember something I wrote over a month ago.

Upcoming, a line I enjoy from the childhood fic:

“And, um, wait until everyone’s got something first before you drink your blood. It’s polite.” “Why polite?” Orin mumbled, staring into her teacup. “Because it is! It’s good manners!”  “But--” “Oh, look,” said Kallian, quickly raising Gutty’s teacup to the doll’s mouth. “Gutty drank her poison before everyone was ready, and now she’s dead, so you can’t play with her any more.” She flipped the doll over, laying her face down. “Oh dear! You’ll have to play with Meaty instead! She’s being good and not drinking her poison yet!”

I love the moments that are just, Oh these guys are Kids, doing Normal Kidlike Behaviour like having tea parties with their toys and parroting The Rules without any understanding. But also because of the fucked up edgetastic environment they’re raised in, they’re serving blood and poison in the tea parties and naming their dolls after Guts. (Also, Kallian hates Gutty because she’s the doll Sarevok gave Orin, and she plays with her more than Meaty, the one Kallian gave her, and I love the mixed up mess of Kallian’s jealousy over not always being her sister’s favourite and the genuine Bad Vibes she gets from Sarevok and Orin’s relationship.)

And from the last chapter of Not A Place of Honour:

“He trapped one of his own people in Avernus once!” “What are you talking about? When did I--” [Enver] stops, remembering the bodyguard, and rolls his eyes. “That must have been almost a decade ago. If you’re going to claim you’ve never cared about me, maybe don’t dig up every insignificant employee I’ve ever let go.”

Like, it’s not one of those lines that make me go “holy shit, that’s beautiful, what an emotional punch.” It’s just--it’s the fact that it’s not a big deal here. It’s the fact that no one even uses Karlach’s name. Kallian only brings her up to score a point against Gortash, and he barely even remembers her, and refers to his act of deeply traumatic, horrifying betrayal as letting her go. And then continues the conversation, and no one mentions Karlach again, because she was just some random bodyguard and they have more important things to argue about. Just… absolute lack of care. For Gortah, It Was Tuesday.

29. Did they ever attend a ball or banquet? Run me through their typical evening at one of these 'parties’ and tell me whether they hated or reveled in it.

Lee generally tried to steer clear of patriars--killing too many of them could cause trouble and they didn’t have much use for them beyond that. Plus they liked to stay incognito, which generally didn’t give them many opportunities to hobnob with anyone hosting big parties.

I think Gortash probably convinced them to go along to a couple of balls. They used a fake name, put together an entirely new costume (Lee considered pretty much all their outfits costumes, for whatever part they wished to play at that particular moment), and lied about nearly every aspect of their identity. They enjoyed the look they got into various patriar’s psyches and found it a fun new experience, but not one they’d want to repeat too often.

14. Favourite body part? And of whom?

Big fan of hearts, due to the romantic connotations, and feeling fun to squeeze in her palm! Also necks! Very intimate and easy to damage!

Pre-amnesia, her favourite neck was Orin’s. They liked her heart too, but for some reason she didn’t give Lee many chances to squeeze it. :c

44. Abdirak my baby girl, what would their interactions have looked like? Did they ever meet pre tadpole? What is the gore baby thinking about the lady of pain’s priest?

Lee happily did Abdirak’s “ritual” during game, but I can’t see them having any interest in him pre-amnesia. They have their own people to do sadomasochism with, and don’t need some guy who’s making it all about a god they don’t worship. I don’t think they have any particular issues with Loviatar, but they don’t care to hear about her when they’re trying to get off.

20. Did they maybe even leave the Gate in the past? Why or why not? What kept them there or drove them away?

She’s definitely left Baldur’s Gate before, but never for long. I feel like she might have gone to nearby cities to create/support cults of Bhaal there. But she has a perfectly pleasant home in Baldur’s Gate, so what would possibly be the point in leaving that?

When did your mage’s magic first manifest? When she was six

Did they try to keep it a secret from their family/close friends? The first time she did magic, she decided it was just an accident and didn’t mention it. The second time, she accidentally set something on fire and went to her parents to explain and apologise for it. (They only told the templars because they were struggling to take care of four kids as it was, and hopes Therlia would be better provided for at the Circle.)

Has their magic ever hurt anyone by mistake? Her first few years at the Circle when she’s being encouraged to see what she can do, it’s a little explodey, but nothing serious.

Which spells came naturally and which were more difficult to learn? Therlia doesn’t really learn any spells easily, but primal spells are the most natural for her.

What is their favourite spell? All the blood magic spells. She also likes stonefist a lot.

Do they put a lot of time into studying magic? She did at the Tower, because she wanted to remain a Good mage and not be made Tranquil. She doesn’t really have the time during the Blight and only starts really studying a lot again when she has mage kids and needs to train them.

What attracted them to their specialization? Her two specialisations are arcane warrior and blood magic. She’s intrigued by arcane warrior as it’s something New, and because it’s elven magic. Being a Circle mage, Therlia spends a lot of time trying to reconnect with her heritage and this is a good way to do it. She’s attracted to blood magic because she’s really done with the Chantry and fuck them they can’t tell her what to do any more she’s gonna become a blood mage to spite them.

How does your mage get along with other mages? Eh, generally as much as she gets on with any other people. She feels a connection to most mages though.

Does your mage have any sympathy for Templars? She feels a little sorry for the ones who were forced into it, but honestly. She has a lot more important things to care about.

Do they consider magic a blessing or a curse? I mean she’s agnostic so I don’t know about blessing, but she thinks it’s a good thing, yeah.

Okay so first of all she was pretty sympathetic to Goldanna and did give her money because, you know, she gets what it’s like to have nothing and be struggling to look after yourself and your family and yeah, if there’s a chance of getting money, you go for it. And she’s concerned and indignant about Goldanna being left alone after her mother died giving birth to (apparently) the king’s son.
