TOBY
On a dark and dreary night, the air thick with dew from a storm that is on its way, seventeen individuals arrive at an old mansion on the outskirts of the city. The building is surrounded by a thick of forest, only one road leading up to its front gate. Invitations are shown to the doorman, everyone arriving under the pretense of a party to celebrate the new year. The front doors creak open to reveal a grand hallway with a master staircase at the end. Down walks the host of the party.

Yajiro | Day 1, Afternoon | Chapter 1
To be told that you and seventeen others are the only ones left with free will, that you’re all alone in this world with either the option to kill or be killed. It’d be hard for anyone to stomach. Akinori was not excluded. Although Akinori seemed calm, his stomach was twisting in knots.
Though soon, a smile laced his lips, and it seemed that all troubled thoughts had left his mind. Any tense bone in his body had slackened. He seemed oddly relaxed for what had just been announced, even as the time ticked away in his watch.
“Just don’t try to think about it as much,” Akinori thought to himself. His thoughts were the one place he didn’t use his usual manner of speaking.
Instead of sticking around and hearing what everyone would have to say, Akinori started to walk back to the dormitories. “And so, with steady steps, the boy had walked back to his dorm room after a long tiring day...” Despite nobody being there, he continued to narrate every action. At the start of his leave, during it, and even as he made it to the lobby.
“And so, the boy finally reached the entrance to the dorms, while it was not a laborious task, it was a long distance...”
This is my chapter 1 of my newest fanfiction, it is my version of what has happened after Erik left the Persian’s house that night, and what had followed. Well, it is kind of a prequel to Devil’s Little Face. I hope you will like it.

STRAY BULLET TO A WAR DOG: chapter one.
Things hadn’t been the same in months. When she came to Japan, when she signed her contract for New Japan Pro Wrestling, she felt a certainty in knowing that she would be leaving her old life behind to find a home within the Bullet Club. However, the Bullet Club as she knew it was not what it once was. It was in shambles, and it wasn’t an overnight process. It started when Prince was ejected as the leader, and AJ Styles took over. It continued when the faction began to splinter; The Elite, The Gold, and The War Dogs were some of the most notable subdivisions of what was her teacher’s most notable creation. The Civil War was reaching an all out fever pitch, and moreover the Elite had their own internal conflict that she simply could not be a participant in. Choosing sides between men who were her friends, her comrades, her brothers, her former lovers was something of an impossibility, and the fact that she had to be put in that position to begin with felt unfair, it felt rotten. It felt like it perpetuated a disunity that the Bullet Club had never been about.
So, thus a distance had been put between herself and the boys. She felt utterly alone the longer she’d been away. It’s already lonely at the top, with her being the IWGP Women’s Champion, however this is a cruel emptiness Becky Lynch had yet to truly come to terms with. It was different. It’s like a wolf that was once in a pack forced into solitude, ironically by her own hand. Sure, Jay White had been whispering around and in her ear, making her promises she wasn’t certain he could keep, but it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t a decision she’s prepared to make. And how would her once beloved Prince feel? The ghost of his presence still loomed in the dojo, in the Tokyo Dome, in Osaka Jo Hall, in every place they went together. It felt like betrayal. It felt like adultery. It felt wrong. It felt lack-luster, like it was devoid of the passion it once held. And the demon’s eyes would torment her subconscious any moment she considered it. They seemed to be a unit. They seemed cohesive. They seemed good. But, it didn’t feel right. If that didn’t feel right, but neither did not having involvement with the Bullet Club at all, and if she felt so alone, where could the Irishwoman find solutions, find solace, find some semblance of belonging?
How auspicious it was that she didn’t even consider the latter splinter from the once sturdy tree that was the Bullet Club! How fortuitous it was that David Finlay happened to be sniffing her out in the shadows of literally everywhere she went. What's more, she didn’t even realize he was lurking anywhere she’d be! If she believes that the Bang Bang Gang, as they’d later be known, were on a sturdy foundation, she’d be in absolute awe at how unified the War Dogs were. They were not just a faction. They were a pack. A family. They took care of their own, no matter how truly feral and presumably rabid they were. And they were growing in their strength and power. After all, their cardinal rule was: You Bring Gold, and if you can’t bring gold, You Bring Bodies. They did both. In spades, as it happens. And Finlay’s logic? Becky could be a great asset, but he knew what she’d been going through, what she’d subjected herself to, where her allegiances once were. Could she truly be trusted? Or would she betray them? Defect from them the minute things got difficult and abandon them? It’s something to consider. So, in the meantime, he watches. He waits. He observes. He commits her very essence through her scent to memory, locked in the confines of his cerebellum, never to leave.

nathaniel finds himself on these little escapades more and more nowadays. the running excuse is that he simply wants to see the city more, explore it on his own terms, but deep down he knows it's something less admirable. he feels simultaneously lost and trapped, and wandering around aimlessly like a child was the only way he could convince himself that he still had control over his life. he sincerely doubts it's convincing anyone else, though.
plans for his marriage are moving ever forward, and the closer and closer it gets to fruition, the more frequently he finds himself outside castle walls. even though they had visitors today, he managed to sneak out under the pretense of needing fresh air. he's sure his mother will be enough of a host to entertain them, anyway. sitting around talking about politics and the economy was tedious enough during work hours--if he had an excuse to skip out on repeating formalities and conversations with their guests, he was going to take it.
he's promised himself to wean off having these thoughts, though. the more he keeps thinking about it, the more tortured he feels when in reality he really isn't. why would he be? being engaged to a beautiful, skilled lady from a noble house would be enviable to anyone else. as far as the general public is concerned, they're a picture perfect couple, even if they weren't marrying for love (but what noble does, nowadays). many men would put their lives on the line to be in his position, and yet...
he stops in his tracks as he spots a familiar face in an unfamiliar location. they were in his little corner in the far reaches of the castle gardens where only gardeners stop by occasionally. no servant ever passes by, let alone guests of honor, but his expression softens when he sees the troubled look on her face.
"lady feng," he greets gently with a bow, before approaching her. "may i ask why you're all the way out here?"
