The BJP it cells (aka state sponsored trolls) decided to boycott the film to make it a flop at box office. A lot of twitter accounts started to post cancelled tickets. Only problem is that they've cancelled the same ticket : GOLD-A10, A8, A9. On Friday 10 jan 6:50 pm in Akota, Vadodara. It's the same screenshot of THREE TICKETS by more than 10 accounts.

#Chappak had a very normal 2nd weekend at the box office & the collections are very low. The film had good review critics. For a more detailed report, check out our article.

Finally, Chappak film director Meghna Gulzar has broken her silence and have given a statement about Deepika Padukone visiting a left-lead protest in the JNU. She said that it is time that people start putting personal and professional thins separately as the step taken by Deepika to be a part of the protest was entirely personal. She further added that the audience must not relate the film with the move and evaluate it as the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal’s story.

In a telephonic interview with a leading media house, Meghna was asked about her say in Deepikas move to visit the Jawaharlal Nehru University after the attack on the protestors. To this said, “We have to be able to separate between the personal and professional. What somebody does in their personal life and what they have done as a professional in a film needs to be looked at separately,”

“While they are trying to separate the lens of personal and professional if one can slightly divert the lens back to the reason why we made the film and what we are trying to talk about and bring to light... I think it is important,” she added.

Deepika herself was asked various questions and confronted by several media houses for her decision to visiting the alleged campus. Yet, she managed to dodge the questions. The entire scene was made-up bier and people started questioning Deepikas intentions. It made a huge controversy and the fire further agitated when some picture of Deepika with the JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh appeared on social media.

It was a great step taken by Deepika yet she failed to clear the air. However, the rest of the Bollywood remained silent on the matter.
