If you feel raggedy today maybe all you need is some kneading. It can make such a difference!
The other day I participated in the The Shabbos Project Challah Bake, where a whole group of ladies get together to make Challah. There are hundreds of these events happening around the world for The Shabbat Project 2017 and this one was in Hamilton, Ontario. The recipe that we followed was a really basic recipe that turned out way better than I had anticipated. I made a small challah and four Challah knots, with raisins and cinnamon. Sweet Challah Recipe What you need: 3 cups AP flour 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp dry yeast 3/4 cup lukewarm water 1 egg 1/3 cup canola oil Optional: 1/2 cup raisins and 1 tbsp cinnamon. What to do: In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients. Add warm water, oil and egg and mix all ingredients until the dough comes together. Knead for 10-15 minutes until the dough has an elastic consistency. Cover and let rise until the dough doubles in size. Punch down, shape and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Cover and allow to rise for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush the shaped Challah with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds and bake for 30 minutes until golden. Allow to cool on a baking rack if you can wait that long. I had to slather butter on a piece while it was still warm.
I HAVE MORE CHALLAH PICS THAT I FORGOT TO POST!!!
