Hey there, excellent question! Steven is actually our newest acquisition, and up until recently was actually our profile pic. We decided against using him though, since he’s not really established in the community. As far as versions go though, we decided to use Chad!Steven from fragments as our Bad End character. So, while writing for the BEF comics, not every script/scene makes the cut. Sometimes entire scripts get the axe like this latest one which I wrote for the Finn x Steven meeting from the last comic. I’ve decided to share this script with you for funsies though, so enjoy.

*close in on Finn’s Eyes Steven’s silhouette is reflected in Pink* F: You *shot out to show Finn partially obscured by the shade of some of the pine trees by Steven and Jasper’s training ground* F: What have you done? *zoom out slightly more to see the remains of Jasper’s gem on the ground behind Steven, gem close in the foreground* *diagonally cut panel, showing Steven’s eyes looking determined on top and his mouth speaking in profile on the bottom* S: I accepted my power, I became strong, I’ve won. *cut to Finn, emerging from hiding looking a mixture of saddened and determined, with another diagonal cut of Steven looking mildly frightened* F: You haven’t won, you’ve become one of us. You LOST Steven Universe. S: H-how do you know my name? F: But you’re special aren’t you? You didn’t get this ending by chance, no. S: What are you t- F: You CHOSE this ending, you became this monster yourself. You could have stopped this, stopped yourself at any time but you chose to continue. You’re the worst one of us by far. S: Stop STOP! You don’t know who I am, you don’t know what I’ve been through! I’ve become strong enough to use my power, now I’m the one in control. No one can hold me back, not even you!!! *cue pink explosion* *Finn Emerges unharmed*

F: You haven’t won Steven Universe. You’ve lost. You’ve lost everything, including yourself.

(So uh, Steven is a bit... different isn’t he? Hear me out though. In this version of the exchange he never reverted back to being himself after shattering Jasper. He was pushed past his limit and didn’t snap back and just stayed in “Chad Steven” mode. However, Grey wanted a more canon based approach so we went with that.
