peeta doesn't mourn portia and his team until a little later. his hijacked memories heavily warped his time during the games, including his memories of them. it's only after months of treatment to reclaim his mind or bits of it is he able to sort of piece them back together and that's when he gets to mourn them (and blame himself for their executions)
I also think about the king family a lot - and how essentially two sets of siblings ( who are all cousins ) were raised very differently from each other, and how different their lives were. thumper and his siblings didn’t know anything about the supernatural until after Taylor died. sage and Christian were raised into it and knew about it at a very young age, they were hunting as early as 11 , and going on partnered trips as early as 17. their family was well known within the hunting … community but thumper didn’t find that out until way later in life ( and usually doesn’t like telling other hunters his last name for this reason ) he doesn’t know who were enemies of his grandfather, aunt or his dad and doesn’t want to unknowingly bring more danger to him or his brothers ..
the fact that theo is hiv positive and is scared to tell his family hurts me.
CHRI.SSY CUNNI.NGHAM, taylor’s version
mirrorball. shimmering beautiful / and when i break it's in a million pieces [...] i know they said the end is near / but i'm still on my tallest tiptoes / spinning in my highest heels, love / shining just for you [...] i'm a mirrorball / i can change everything about me to fit in [...] i'm still a believer but i don't know why / i've never been a natural / all i do is try, try, try
this is me trying. i was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere / fell behind on my classmates, and i ended up here / pouring out my heart to a stranger [...] i just wanted you to know / that this is me trying / at least I'm trying [...] and it's hard to be at a party when i feel like an open wound
gold rush. eyes like sinking ships / on waters so inviting / i almost jump in [...] everybody wants you / everybody wonders what it would be like to love you [...] what must it be like / to grow up that beautiful?
enchanted. there i was again tonight / forcing laughter, faking smiles / same old tired, lonely place [...] this night is sparkling, don't you let it go / i'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home [...] the lingering question kept me up / 2 AM, who do you love? / i wonder 'til I'm wide awake [...] my thoughts will echo your name, until I see you again
soon you’ll get better. holy orange bottles, each night i pray to you / desperate people find faith, so now i pray to jesus too [...] ooh-ah, you'll get better soon / 'cause you have to [...] this won't go back to normal, if it ever was / it's been years of hoping, and i keep saying it because / 'cause I have to
nothing new. they tell you while you're young / "girls, go out and have your fun" / then they hunt and slay the ones who actually do it / criticize the way you fly when you're soarin' through the sky / choots you down and then they sigh, and say / "she looks like she's been through it" [...] lord, what will become of me / once I've lost my novelty? [...] and will you still want me when i'm nothing new? [...] how long will it be cute / all this crying in my room / when you can't blame it on my youth / and roll your eyes with affection? [...] and my cheeks are growing tired / from turning red and faking smiles

Connor might not have had the greatest relationship with Achilles, ESPECIALLY when he was in his ~rebellious 18-20′s~, but they did have an interesting dynamic. a bittersweet one. these two are no better than the other, and yet in the beginning, they’ve acted like they were. Connor, with his naïve, black and white, yet hopeful view of the world. and then there’s Achilles, with his disillusioned and (somewhat) realistic view of the world. two polar opposites clashing heads. innocence vs. guilt. though there comes a point where they meet each other halfway; that they needed each other to unlearn and let go of their ego.
Connor gave an old man HOPE for the future. that the end does not have to be bleak. that there IS always a second chance, another way. Connor sparked life back into him.
Achilles HUMBLED an eager & ambitious young man. while not the best teacher, and certainly not the best with words, he was patient with Connor. taught Connor, in his own way, to slow down. to think about his actions and what consequences it may cause... because Achilles learnt that the hard way. he had to live with it for the remainder of his life.
at the end of the day, they were what the other needed--a father and a son.
francis’ absolute best moment is this one: “‘cubitum eamus?' 'what?' 'nothing.' he transferred the cigarette to his left hand and offered the right one to me. it was bony and soft-skinned as a teenage girl's.” and none of you can convince me otherwise.
eloise telling daphne “i suppose i should thank you for being so perfect... so i do not have to be” is actually such an important scene because it’s the first time we see eloise not be so sure of herself in the series, and it shows a different side of her even if it’s just one line. she knows that she won’t live up to the image daphne made as a debutant and while she has no problem with turning out completely different, eloise knows there will always be that comparison between them. so even if she’s the unconventional type of lady out in society, at least there was daphne, who was the ideal type.
