how long has it been since he’s SLEPT ? he doesn’t know. he can’t remember. all he knows is that he’s got a good eight hours before he goes in for his next shift ---- and that courfeyrac is quite possibly the single most ATTRACTIVE human being he’s ever seen in his life. especially now, when he’s just rolling out of bed shirtless with his hair a mess. ( he just wants to kiss him. ) 

it’s with drunken-like GRACE that he reaches for his boyfriend’s hand as he practically collapses to his side of the bed. green eyes fall shut involuntarily before he forces them open again, sleepy smile spreading across his lips.  

      “ don’t go yet ... “ 

    the exhaustion weighing on his body ALWAYS     tends to strengthen his affections. always. 

  he can’t help but GRIN at that ;  his book is thrown carelessly aside,  arms winding reflexively around courfeyrac’s waist as he leans his  forehead into the dip between his shoulder blades, pressing soft  kisses there. 

she’s been on the phone with  ENJOLRAS for the better part of the day ;  before that, she’d been speaking with joly, and YESTERDAY, she’d spent the afternoon with her friends at the hospital in the OBSTETRICS wing. 

    things have not really been a cake walk for her the past few days.

it started with a late period ;  of course, her first thought was that maybe it was just because of stress from work. then came the sickness. which might have been PMS ... except that her period never came. not AT ALL. 

   she keeps trying to come up with different things it might be. surely,    SURELY there’s some kind of medical phenomenon that fits her,    because she can’t be PREGNANT. of course not. she and courf have    always been  s a f e  ........

   and yet, all of her friends tell her the same thing. amy the ob/gyn says    she’s definitely pregnant. joly told her to keep an extra close watch on    her blood sugar, because it may PLUMMET due to the baby.

         and enjolras said she definitely needs to tell courfeyrac. 

     she’s in the middle of checking her blood sugar when courfeyrac gets      home, and she can already FEEL her breath catching in her throat, her      heart beating like crazy. what is he going to say ?  what if he freaks out ?      what if ------------ 

    “ welcome home, courf ! “ 

      she greets him with a big smile from over the top of the sofa that she hopes       doesn’t look FORCED. a glance back down at the meter ;  her glucose is low.

   she’s been gone for a week, thanks to CONFERENCES ;     it feels like a decade. away from her friends, away from    home, away from COURFEYRAC.

   so she can’t help but be just a tad dramatic upon her    arrival back to his apartment ( it seems like she’s been    spending more time there than at her own, lately ). she’s    so excited, she can barely get her key in the door ---- to    her delight, he’s standing in the living room when she does. 

                    “ COURF ! “
