He holds her close, one hand on the small of her back, and the other holding her own hand aloft in his. His face is a bit solemn as she asks but he manages to bring one of his usual grins to his face as he replies.
“ I don’t know, are we? ” He returns the question since it is quite clear that thy are, in fact, slow dancing. He pulls her a little closer, holds her a little tighter, afraid she might disappear from his grasp once more if he relents.

All of his patience, his execution and careful destruction of the family who metaphorically spit in his face crumbled like a foundation made of salt. All of his hubris... The weight he’d been carrying, the sum of his trauma had crushed him again, bringing him to his knees in defeat. The spirit of adventure once again gripped him by the throat and held fast, reminding him of all he’d faced in the past. “I’m not a villain!” Flashbacks of the quality of his voice, the tone of disparity and pleading for pathos to those he once considered assets, ringing through his ears in shame and dread. And that retort...
“You sure aren’t.”
As much of an iceberg as he was, it managed to cut deep in the weakened crack of his heart and shatter his façade effortlessly. Now, he sat on his knees in shame, staring at the pitch material of her dress and looking to his own hands in confusion. Wasn’t he turned into a common vulture? It wasn’t as if he was going to argue with the reversal of such a fate. If anything, he found himself dumbfounded that he returned to his original form.
“What...What’s going on here?”

“Not all of us can be shadow sorcerers of immeasurable power.” There’s a cold, heavy stone of terror in his gut that Gyro’s not sure has managed to stay out of his voice. He’d rather be as far away from Magica de Spell as he could be. But that didn’t seem to be in the cards at the moment.
