TLDR; there’s a lot of privacy invasions and censorship going on in Western countries. This post is about why and how you should fight back against the censorship by payment processors against Steam and Itch.io

Regardless of the original specifics, allowing private companies with unelected officers determine what you can and can't buy is completely awful for both the consumer and the creator. Here is an instructional poster from senshionart from Twitter along with their tweet, edited to be more general.

Additional advice from tendermiasma on Twitter: “Good morning! Visa’s call center is so broken they’re starting to disconnect callers or refuse escalation when asked about censorship. If you’re hung up on, call back to complain about getting hung up on until someone will take your complaint about that plus the og complaint ✨️
Make sure to hit Mastercard, PayPal and Stripe too so they fell the same heat ✨️”
In the uncensored post, there's also a link to an ACLU petition against Mastercard, but it deals with a particular group I've heard that Tumblr staff are not as accomodating for as its user base, so I'll leave it there to avoid being flagged and thus limiting overall exposure.
Please call and clog the payment processors Mastercard, Visa, Stripe, and PayPal.
