i’m learning how to play the cello as an adult learner, and here’s my update at 100 cumulative hours of practice (including lessons)
i'm on my third teacher! it took over two years to get to a hundred hours, please do not do the math it's embarrassing.
i absolutely adore my new curriculum - i'm working through the royal conservatory of music program & plan to take exams at every level!
i'm still really struggling with the motivation to practice, but having like minimum three songs going at the same time seems to help. especially when they're at different stages of progress.
i also think this is pretty common with all my hobbies where i'm an early beginner - intermediate proficiency i can't wait for you!!!

i really love this blog post about structuring practice routines! i have a long list of scales, études, and song homework from my cello teacher (which i adore ❤️❤️❤️) and this post had me adding on repertoire review & ending with open practice.
it made for a very enjoyable practice week!!!

had a cello lesson today!!! for the first time in months!!!!!! i'm getting back into it! weekly lessons, daily practice!!!
continuing with my old teacher, but online. starting the second suzuki book.
i'm at 45 hours total, including today. need to rent a smaller cello, and focus on engendering passion to make daily practice easier/smoother. hoping to practice at least two hours a week, eventually more of course.
