Ruin barely even notices it happening at first, his feet finding their way to Charlie before he realizes thats where hes going, accidentally bumping into her more than the others but nothing Concerning

Eclipse starts giving him weird looks, he's finding his way to Charlie at any moment he can and the others are noticing he's acting different, quicker to physical affection with her than anyone else, hes downright Clingy, and he doesnt even seem to realize hes acting strange

Its about when he first sneaks into Eclipse's lab just to see her that he realizes something is Wrong, when hes not with Charlie hes running every virus detection he can, combing through his own code line by line when they dont find anything, he knows something isnt right, Charlie is 11, he should not be so attracted to her, no matter how kind, and sweet, and helpful, and adorable, and-

I think his Monty's temporary return is probably a breaking point for him, his hope and grief and love for his Monty mixing with his guilt and conflicted feelings and draw to Charlie into a cocktail of Bad Brain Time

He starts drawing Charlie into dark corners and closets, starts pushing farther, wrapping himself into a cocoon around her whenever theyre alone, his Monty under the virus's control starts making comments, accusing him of things he cant even deny and making lewd comments about the two, Sunpea gets very defensive on behalf of Ruin, which only deepens the well of guilt in Ruin's chest
