The background behind this is basically: Eclipse got the star, but took Lunar with him after getting it ^w^ then he quickly decided that he was a lil pent up after that entire interaction with Monty, and well, who better to have help him than his own little brother, Lunar

Lunar's just a lil guy and can't do much against the big bad Eclipse (and maybe, depending, he might not really wanna do anything), and whereas he hates him for what he did to him, Eclipse is still his creator and Lunar still lived as his brother for a while
V1 Eclipse is a jerk who convinces himself that he doesn't care about how Lunar feels, and plus, there's not much a traumatized, pre-death Lunar could do against him anyway, so easy prey :3

Since there's literally just that I'm gonna take this as my opportunity to ramble abt Sun/Moon!
SO, I have a lot of thoughts on them. God they're the original celestial couple, they're the start of it all. They're very close, despite (or, thanks to) the shit they've been through with eachother.
Imo, they're really clingy with eachother. Like specifically Old Moon and Sun?? Bro just died for roughly a year and a half, and even though it was like seconds or smth for Moon it was very much a long while for Sun. So, obv they don't wanna let go of eachother. You can tell they're dating. Like they hide it from the parents/guardians and kids, but Earth, Lunar, and the other animatronics? Nah. Like you'll walk into the daycare to see Sun straddling Moon as Moon works, giving him little cheek kisses and asking him abt what he's doing.
Earth and Lunar are well aware and very supportive of their relationship. They have this thing where Moon'll enter the daycare during working hours, he'll do a hand signal to tell Earth or Lunar to distract the kids, then when the kids are distracted he'll kiss Sun <3
While Sun's cleaning, Moon'll just come up behind him, wrap his arms around him, and rest his head on his shoulder. Sometimes he'll kiss Sun's rays, too, which never fails to make the sun animatronic giggle.
Related to that, if Moon feels like Sun's overworking himself cleaning and whatnot, he'll just pick him up and carry him bridal style to somewhere where he can rest. Once they get there, Moon lays him down and they cuddle and kiss and makeout and-
Back onto the subject of their clinginess, they hold hands literally everywhere. Like, Kmart? Hands are held. The park? Holding hands they do. And so on. They're actually so sweet though, like sometimes Moon'll pull Sun's hand up and give it a little kisses and aksnanan I love this ship so much-
Long story short, they kiss, they cuddle, and they are very deeply in love :)
