Celestial Shift Yap Sesh
So, the ask game didn't get much interaction, which sort of makes sense given my follower count, but I want to talk more, so I'll be answering some of my favorite prompts by myself! (I'm pretty sure that's legal)
4. What is a major change you made?
Burntrap is William Afton. While I used to believe this was true in canon, the evidence seems to be pointing to Burntrap being the Mimic, if he was even real in the first place. Just in case Burntrap is proven to be Afton at some point, I'll add the most obvious major change—Sun and Moon become humans.
5. What is something you kept the same?
The story of Security Breach still happens, specifically the Redemption/Princess Quest route, which I think is most commonly theorized as the canon ending, although I mostly chose it because it's the happiest ending.
7. What ships are canon in this au?
The biggest ones are Sun x Chloe (OC) and Moon x Ginger (OC), but there's also Vanessa x Luis, and some oc x oc in the background. I might add ships for some of the currently child characters, but that'll wait until I write something where they're old enough for romance.
8. What platonic relationships are important in this au?
Sun & Moon, Vanessa & Gregory, and their relationships with each other and the other animatronics. I also value the Glamrocks' relationships with each other, but they're not quite as important to this au.
9. Is there a scene you wish you could've included, but couldn't? Why?
There's a cut scene where Sun and Moon try to help Gregory with his math homework. I thought it was funny, but it didn't fit the flow of the story. I currently have two versions saved in my drafts, one where they still have their "computer brains" and calculate the answers almost immediately, and one where they can't even finish the first problem.
10. Is there a character you wish you could've included, but couldn't? Why?
I wanted to put DJ Music Man in there, but I couldn't find a good reason for them to go visit him.
11. Is there any relationship that's different in this au than in the source material?
Probably all of them are different in some way, but most notably Sun and Moon themselves. In the games, Sun is afraid of Moon, desperately trying to keep the lights on to curb his violent tendencies, and Moon resents Sun for imprisoning him in his own body, even after the Pizzaplex closes, and presumably after the virus is gone. In this au, Sun and Moon did have some rough patches in the past, but by the start of Celestial Shift, they're best friends, even calling themselves brothers by the end of the fic.
15. Is it a different genre than the source material? If so, what? Why did you choose that genre?
Yep! There's definitely more romance than SB, or most of FNAF. One of the main inspirations for this fic was my sister seeing some human Sun fanart and going "aw, I want him to find love," and I agreed, so it kind of spiraled from there. I think it also has more horror elements than SB (at least more that are explicitly shown), because I wanted to tie it in more with the other FNAF games.
16. Are there any ocs in this fic?
Yes! Not only are there plenty of oc friends, but two of the main characters are shipped with ocs! If you don't like ocs, you probably won't like this!
19. Share a headcanon!
Vanessa had almost no computer skills before becoming a playtester. She learned some basic IT stuff from Luis, and more Fazbear-specific stuff from Peepaw. She knows more about hacking than most people, and more about animatronic maintenance, repair, and reprogramming than most Fazbear technicians.
23. Do you have other ideas for how to continue this au/other fics that could be written in the same universe?
Oh boy, do I! There are currently 4 finished Celestial Shift sequel oneshots, and I'm working on the non-canon "two star" ending (not exactly a happily ever after like the canon ending, but it's not an ending where everybody dies, either). I currently have 2-3 Celestial Shift-related wips that have a good chance at seeing the light of day, a few more that will probably stay in my storage for me to stare at lovingly when I remember they exist, plus so many more ideas that haven't been written down yet! (Possible spoiler warning for the next paragraph)
The most promising one is a story where Sun, Moon, and their families go to the abandoned Pizzaplex years after it closes. They would tell stories about their past to their (mostly) teenaged kids while exploring the remains of their old home. Their current quest is getting more parts for an injured Roxy, but I might change it if I think of something better.
And that's all for now! This was a very fun yapping aid!
If you want to see the rest of the prompts, here's the ask game!
