BYEBYE, LONDON! #NotEngland

This blog post is extra special for a couple of reasons. First, this is the longest I’ve gone without blogging ever since I started this blog #Deprived #ImTalkingAboutMe #ButMaybeYouAreToo. Second, I’m typing this post in the air (cause I’m on a plane… get it?) and there’s someone sitting beside me as I type.

I’m usually super uncomfortable when people are around me when I blog but.. #YOLO #MakesNoSense #IllMakeHIMUncomfortable (won’t be able to post this until I get WiFi though). Third, this is my first time blogging after buying my domain (www.getawei.com) because waving goodbye to the “wordpress” in between is symbolic for officially gaining a new hobby (or accepting the fact that I have no life). Lastly and most importantly, this post is special because it’s the start of something new #ShoutOutToHighSchoolMusical #MyFaveMovies. It’s the start of what this blog is really about… GETAWEIS (insert creepy smiley from our iPhones). Now that summer has finally arrived, I can finally getawei (I never really appreciated my last name until recently… #ThanksDad) from my hectic school life and start my summer.

Currently, I’m on the plane from Winnipeg (aka the middle of nowhere #NoOffence) to Vancouver #MyHomie. I just started to play that game that everyone’s been talking about – 2048. IT IS SO FREAKING DIFFICULT. And addictive. I’m so glad I didn’t do this during exams or else the only 2048 number I’ll be seeing is 20% and 48% #YesIThinkImHilarious. If you’ve gotten 2048 (or beyond)… #IHateYou #TeachMeYourWays

HOW DO YOU DO THIS?!

My plan for my first night in Vancouver was to have a super chill night. But obviously that didn’t happen because apparently I suck at planning things… so anyway, after chilling with my parents for a couple of hours, I ended up getting sushi with Lucy and Eric. That was really supposed to be it but one thing led to another and all of a sudden we’re in Richmond picking up Emily. Grabbing bubble tea all of a sudden became drinking @ Ceili’s with the guys.

Live Music from All Hands On Jane, beer pong with the derby team, and a silent auction (cash only) with lots of sweet swag. Tickets are $10, and include a beer. All ticket sales and auction proceeds are in support of practice space and travel funds for the Jills!

In 4th grade, the students learn lots of square dances (10 of them) in preparation for the colonial fair.  

Some of these square dances are ceilis. (Sweets of May, Haymaker's Jig, Haste to the Wedding)
