First, I wanted to say that this would never ever ever ever ever happen to Cee, because she is absolutely brilliant and perfect in every way. 

Katie had known that Cee was getting her report card, and had made dinner extra special, even though she couldn't cook, so "special dinner" was really "mac and cheese." 

Cee, however, had come home crying and yelled to leave her alone, before she slammed the shared room's door closed, leaving Katie with two full bowls of mac and cheese. Katie scraped both of the bowls, because suddenly, she had lost her appetite. 

Katie left Cee alone, because very often Cee needed space when she was upset - at least for a while, and then they would snuggle and fall asleep together, while Katie would pretend nothing was wrong at all, until it all came out in a blurt, and they'd just talk for hours. 

So, Katie waited a long, frustrating hour, watching some Doctor Who special that she'd seen a million times. And then she found the crumpled, wet (because it had been raining all day and despite all Katie's attempts, Cee refused to learn how to drive) piece of paper, and sighed, before carefully flattening it out. 

U's. 

U's in everything. And then Katie was crying because it just wasn't fair . Cee had worked too hard! 

So she smiled sadly and grabbed a pen out of Cee's bag, because by now she knew where everything in Cee's bag was, especially when she forced Cee to do her homework, and used the tip to change all the U's to A's. 

Then she took it with her, when she went to knock on their bedroom door. She opened it slowly. 

"GO 'WAY, BOO!" 

"No." 

Katie stalked over and got under the covers, close as she could beside Cee. "Now, let's look at these grades." 

"Why are you - ?" 

"Shush, and look." 

Cee grabbed the paper, and smiled lightly for a moment before snorting. "A's, Boo? That's likely." 

Katie shrugged, grinning, and tapped Cee on the nose. "Made you smile, didn't it? Now, it's not the end of the world. You're still brilliant." 

"Thanks, Boo." 

"I love you, Cee." 

"I love you more" 

They'd just become flat mates and Cee had constantly, constantly, constantly begged that they simply had to customize their phones together. 

"Cee," Katie rolled her eyes, "you'll just make it something weird and ridiculous. My mum and school friends call me on that!" 

See, since Cee had moved to America, sometimes she got homesick so Katie started using English words so she would miss it a bit less. They also still spammed each other like every day so in those spams Katie would spell things "favourite," and "colour" for example. 

"But!" Cee responded. "But BOO!"

Just like Cee always did. "But BOO!" the same words every time. And every time it worked. 

And every time 'Boo' would drag it out, too. "Cee, that's not a good rebuttal!" 

Cee stuck out her tongue. "But, Boo, it works every time." 

"Does not!" Katie yelled but she was biting her lip like she did every time she lied. 

Cee rolled her eyes. "Please, Boo!" 

"Fine," Katie finished begrudgingly.

The final outcome was ... different. 

There were various giggles and then Katie said,"Hey, this is Cee - " 

"And Boo's -" 

"Cee!" 

"And Kaaatiiiieeeeee's" 

"voicemail" 

"I want to sleep on the floor, Boo," Cee insisted, dragging the duvet off of Katie's bed, and settling herself beneath it, on the carpet. Katie attempted, for a few minutes, to tug it back, but Cee clung on, laughing and shaking her head.

"No, I'm staying here," she repeated over and over, till Katie gave up and collapsed back onto her bed, glaring at the ceiling.

"Don't moan at me when you're all achy tomorrow, and I'm fine," she said, even as she contemplated how she was going to keep warm without a blanket.

"I'll be PERFECT," Cee grinned up at her, before shutting her eyes firmly.

Katie tried to do the same, but it really was chilly, and somehow she ended up rolling off the bed, and clambering over to where Cee was sleeping. It was easy to tug the duvet from her grip, now, and Katie rolled her eyes as she crawled underneath.

The next morning, when Cee woke up, Katie was sprawled all over the place, and the duvet had been kicked off the pair of them, and was now in a curled up in the corner.

"Well," she huffed, poking Katie in the forehead, "that's just fabulous."

"Mmm, floor's really comfy," Katie mumbled, her eyes cracking open.
