You and Cedar are sat together in the common room, studying for a test, at least, you are anyway, “You know Cedar, you can tell me what’s on your mind.” You tell her, completely forgetting about the curse placed upon her for that moment. Cedar opens her mouth and begins to hurriedly speak. “Really? Okay good, because right now [Name] it’s like you’re completely consuming my mind!”
Cedar places her hands on her face. “Everyday for the past month it’s like the only thing my brain wants me to see is you. I paint a picture of a flower, no, it has to be you holding the flower. I look up at the sky and see clouds, no it has to be you in the clouds, I eat my lunch you’re suddenly in my mashed potatoes!” Cedar takes in a deep breath and keeps going, “I see a couple, no, I see you and me!”
She finishes, before she pauses when she realizes what had just left her mouth. She chuckles, trying to act as if what just happened didn’t embarrass her. However the multiple splinters that emerge from her wooden body give away her nervousness. You stare at Cedar, she stares at you. Then you tilt your head, “Cedar, if you think I didn’t know that you liked me, you are far from right.”
Cedar pauses. “…What?” She questions, her life seemingly flashing before her eyes. “Cedar, you cannot tell a lie, which means you can’t try and twist a question. Do you know how many times I’ve heard someone ask if you like something, and your immediate response is, ‘No, but I like [Name!’” You mimic Cedar’s voice. “Oh, that—that makes a lot of sense…”
Cedar replies with realization across her face. Then it scrunches up slightly when a thought crosses her mind, she says, “Wait, if you knew I liked you, why did you never say anything?” You blink. “…I liked hearing you gush over me.
