The CT results showed I have "what appears to be likely a redundant or very mobile cecum mesentery predisposing for cecal bascule" and I should follow up with a gastroenterologist AND a surgeon. I don't exactly have a surgeon so I wrote my gastroenterologist and her nurse wrote back and said the doctor said I need to come in for a visit as soon as she could work me in. The soonest day they could work me in is the 19th, so I have to wait until then.

I have a ton of pain in the area where the cecum is, which I only learned about what that is thanks to the CT, lol, and it gets really, really bad at times. I've had trouble the past two nights even laying on my right side because it causes horrible pain in my abdomen, side, and back. I've had the pain there for probably a year now but I kept being told nothing was wrong or was found to cause it. I know I'm not crazy because that pain will sometimes take my breath away.

Apparently the main way to fix this issue is surgery, which obviously I don't want to go through, but if that's what it takes to rid myself of this pain and the issues it causes, I'll be happy to get it over with.

I had a colonoscopy back in February, so I don't understand why this wasn't picked up on then, especially when my pain in that area predates the colonoscopy and this new finding. I don't have much faith in my gastroenterologist because she found absolutely nothing wrong during my colonoscopy even though I had colitis the week before it and the month before it, which then it was so bad I had sepsis from it and was hospitalized. But she saw nothing at all wrong. The doctor is probably 80, which is fine, but she won't even look you in the eye to talk to you. But it's said she's one of the best at the local hospital.

I will say that if my appointment Wednesday doesn't produce an explanation of what's going on and a plan of action to help me, I'll ask my regular doctor to refer me to another gastroenterologist in Charleston for a second opinion. He did that before with my voice and throat issue, so I know he would do it for me again.
