god imagine being ana lopez, youre engaged to the most annoying man in earth and then here comes a hot french vampire to take you on the sapphic adventure of your dreams
This episode was wildddd for the HJ LaVonte dynamic. HJ sired LaVonte? LaVonte regularly goes into deep funks and HJ has to talk him out of it?? HJ is fine with them being called gay but LaVonte reacts with deep anger and runs away???
The 'stealing catalytic converters' thing is definitely a riff on Jason Todd trying to steal the batmobile's tires.
Stray details that intrigued and amused me this episode:
-Bat Child has something "folkloric" against bells? Why so? She didn't specify church bells; she can't stand bells, full stop. Hope we get more info on that in future.
-Vampiric healing seems to require an expenditure of blood. Interesting.
-We met almost all the Herd housemates. Wonder what Katie's like.
-Zac Oyama I absolutely refuse to believe that "skirch" is a word XDDD However I now see that Urban Dictionary has three competing definitions, and none of them come remotely close to the context of the sentence in which he used this term.
-Emily's "echolocation" noises are the best damn thing I have heard yet. Tiny "hoo"s and little tongue clicks. I love them so much.
-Willie: "Worthy and Wingstreet. Hey, you fellas lawyers?" LaVonte (laughing uproariously w HJ): "Hey, the day I'm a lawyer is the day you put me in the ground!" Aside from the frisson of chills induced by our business bros' manic laughter, I am so tickled with this choice of phrase on LaVonte's/Lou's part.
-The visions this episode are wild. Madelaine seeing the college students as metaphorical ghosts, being called out to by a (possibly merely fantasy) French nobleman on a horse and handed a shovel. Bat Child registering all those angry ghosts in the mine, and the one (1) happy spirit... who will maybe be trapped in the Dolly's drivethru speaker?? (As per the opening credits?)
