Next Game Changer

With the premonition depicting Ermine clutching an AI construct of Davis Otherman like a mother at the end of the world, it creates some wrinkles about what exactly their relationship is.

She must have been so pissed when Tarker killed Davis, and maybe sending them all to Purpee was part of the plan to acquire the business center all along, Madeleine had a debt and now she had the opportunity to call it in.

But Otherman believed humanity was going to die soon, had to be replaced by proprietary programs, and if not him, then someone else would do it. He clearly states that in the first episode.

Ermine Damanescu's big problem with the coterie was all the changes they wanted, instead of not shaking up the status quo. Status quo which would eventually lead to humanity dying out.

She works for Metr, Davis wasn't exactly hiding what he wanted.

Was she fine with it? Maybe she did not consider it actually coming to pass, she did not think highly of human capabilities.

Or maybe the construct represented the power of AI, the new rising power she attached itself to, hoping it would bring her more control, but in the end it killed the world and left her alone.

The wording of "clutching like a mother" does bring an idea Davis was somehow more important to her. Was he actually a dhampyr? Was she trying to recreate her own child with AI? Perhaps he actually is just a human, just one Ermine took effort into corrupting and now had no idea what to do without him. In episode 10 she was mad the coterie was having a candidate in the election instead of corrupting someone. She sees corruption of high placed individuals as the only viable solution, and she might be lost without these pawns.
