Artemisia: “It’s just a lot of people and just thinking about it gives me a headache because they’re all always talking, it’s never quiet.” 

Oleander: “So that’s why you’ve been having so many headaches lately?” 

Artemisia: “I mean ... yeah.” 

Oleander: [sighs] “You can stay home for today, but this is by no means a permanent solution. We will have to figure out a way for you to still be able to go to school. Would it help if you could spend your breaks in my office?” 

Artemisia: “...Probably.” 

Oleander: “I will get you a key, then. That way you can also be there when I have my day off.” 

Eminence: “So, I got a letter from Briechester this morning!” 

Flame: “Me too! I got in! Did you...?” 

Eminence: “I did! Even got the rising star scholarship!” 

Flame: “That’s fantastic, I knew they would be stupid not to take you!” 

Eminence: [blushes] “Thanks. Does that mean we will be dormmates?” 

Flame: “Are you asking me to move in with you?” 

Eminence: “Maybe I am...”

Alabaster: “So, Gardenia. Is this really the life you want for yourself?” 

Magnolia: “Alabaster, please.” 

Alabaster: “No, Magnolia. I’m genuinely curious. We had a very good life planned for you, Gardenia. And you decided to ruin that - and for what, exactly?” 

Oleander: [softly] “It’s okay. You’re safe.” 

Artemisia: [sniffling] “I j-just want it to st- stop.”
