NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Scandal Keeps Growing — CBI Makes More Arrests
India’s biggest medical entrance exam is now at the center of a massive national scandal.
The CBI has arrested two more accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak investigation — including a doctor and a coaching institute faculty member — taking the total number of arrests to 13 so far.
According to investigators, leaked question papers were allegedly sold across at least five Indian states, with Maharashtra emerging as the main hub of the network.
Officials claim the operation involved coaching centers, intermediaries, printed question papers, digital transfers, and large-scale money transactions.
For millions of students, this isn’t just another corruption story. It’s a nightmare about trust.
Over 23 lakh students appeared for NEET-UG 2026, only for the exam to later be cancelled after reports of irregularities surfaced. Now, students across the country are left dealing with uncertainty, stress, delayed admissions, and frustration over a system they believed was merit-based.
The scandal has also reignited a larger debate around: the commercialization of coaching culture, the pressure of competitive exams, and how vulnerable high-stakes education systems are to corruption.
As the investigation expands, many students are asking the same question: If exams can be bought, what happens to fairness?
NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak: CBI Arrests Physics Expert
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken major action in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, arresting Pune-based expert Manisha Sanjay Havaldar, accused of leaking the Physics question paper to select candidates.
• Manisha Havaldar was appointed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an exam expert and had full access to the Physics paper. • She allegedly shared questions in April with co-accused Manisha Mandhare. • Investigations revealed the shared questions matched the actual NEET-UG 2026 Physics paper. • CBI has conducted raids across multiple cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur, and Ahilyanagar, seizing laptops, mobiles, and documents. • So far, 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with the paper leak network. • NEET-UG 2026 exam, initially held on May 3, was canceled after the leak. The rescheduled exam will take place on June 21, 2026.
