Jim study

Okay so this idiot here decided to challenge a few demons when it comes to drawing and it all came about when I had someone view my paintings and said “Yeah but that’s not real art though” Bit of a punch to the gut but kinda put my ass into gear about attempting to at least try and redevelop my style again. It’s not perfect but lets be honest, it’s been a solid 8 years since I even tried to draw something half decent.

A few things to point out:

1) The picture on the left helped me to develop a base and get used to the shape of Jim's face, so essentially this is what they call a trace study, I just needed it to figure out where the fundamentals are.

2) My lines are a bit shaky as I am cool as fuck and broke both my elbows, so that’s never gonna be perfect unless I buy some amazing software to help smooth shaky lines.

3)It’s not tidy but I wasn’t aiming for a finished piece in all honesty,

4)It’s my first day.

5)Feel free to throw helpful shit my way to help me improve.

I also did an alternate version where I turned him into Orson just by changing his eye colour

He looks even more intimidating that way XD

Anyway enough of my rambling.....here is my art.

Orson - The silent guardian

The second one of my reapers that I had to paint and bring to life. He is Adder’s confidant, right hand man, second in command. The one who runs the ship should their leader be unable to carry out his duties.

He’s usually very calm and relaxed, able to command under pressure and keep the others calm in tough situations. Those in Adders unit are able to speak to Orson about anything and in return, Orson is able to give them sound advice. He is essentially the rock that keeps everyone together, including Adder and serves his leader to the fullest.

Upset him and it is another story altogether, Orson is ruthless, relentless and cold, he puts everything on the line and most that challenge him, never escape unscathed or, if they are a mortal enemy of the reapers, they never escape with their lives.

So that’s two down two more to go. Painting was based off this image.

“Not Again Reese”

I’m not a great drawer, not by no stretch of the imagination am I great. I stopped drawing properly about 6 years ago cause I lost my confidence but after getting some great encouragement from a few close friends, I gave my creative mind a stretch and drew something from scratch....and came up with this.....Pine hugging a battered and bloodied Reese.

It ain’t great and there is room for improvement but after 6 years of not putting down a decent drawing on paper....think I ain’t done too badly.

Johnathan Pine needed a run to clear his head, things had not been running so smoothly for him since Roper was caught and imprisoned. His mind had become restless as flashbacks plagued him through the night and sometimes during the day. Yet when he ran, his mind is silenced and he could enjoy the moments peace that it gives him.

As normal, at the end of every run, Tom likes to end his run at a waterfall close to the beach. He steps into the natural waterfall and allows the cool water to run over his body, like he does everyday but today was different, out the corner ofhis eye he notices a man close by lingering at the edge of the waterfall, sizing up the jump he was about to take into the plunge pool. “The man has to be crazy” He thought as he watched him back from the edge slowly

In seconds the man had thrown himself over the edge, limbs flailing as he went into freefall before making impact with the water below, Water splashing upwards before it became still once again.

It was a long few seconds before the man emerged from under the water, a smile plastered on his face as the water laps around him, blissfully content and seemingly free of all of lifes problems. He then starts to swim towards the waterfall.

Pine was always conscious of strangers approaching him and despite this mans happy exterior, he was wary. All this time he had been coming to this waterfall, he had never seen him come here, so why now? Why now did this man appear out of nowhere.

“Water’s not bad huh?” He says as he smiles at Pine “Warm and refreshing “ Pine nods his head as he watched the man enjoy the water rushing over him, shaking the water from his eyes.

“Yeah....it’s nice, allows you to wash away any tension and stress.....” Tom says carefully craftily eyeing up the mans physique “I’ve never seen you here before.....who are you?”

“Just call me Witt”
