Adora, Cattra and other friends journey to there to wrap up a loose end, knowing nothing of the planet except for the following points:

it is a war-torn and desolate land, that has been conquered by many; the native lifeforms are insectoid beings who have been harshly oppressed and victimized by the humanoid Imperials and taller, gray-skinned giants known as the Shadow People, and all live in a variety of kingdoms that was once overseen by the Imperial’s empire (hence their name; they are literally people of the empire, and have a self-righteous idea of manifest destiny).

All sorts of weird things show up on Sakaar, as its some sort of mystical wasteland where everything ends up somehow. If something goes missing, it turns up here. It’s where things go when no one wants them, there is no place for them, the land of the shunned and outcast. “Sakaar’s where the universe throws out its trash.” A land of monsters, and renegades.

Sakaar is ruled now by a mysterious figure called the Green King; Adora initally assumes he’s probably a threat, as everyone calls him a monster in hushed, frightened tones. A vicious beast who tore down the Red King and smashed everything in his way; a green-skinned horror who will not die, who cannot die, whose endless and burning rage may break all the world. He, who fought a herald of the apocalypse and beat him in such a fury that even the bloodthirsty crowd was appalled. A savage monster whose undying flesh knits together, who even death itself cowers from in horror.

Adora expects someone pretty much on the same level as Hordak Prime.

What she gets is a huge and muscular behemoth with a surprisingly laconic - if tense - attitude, who is rational and calm, and kind of annoyed their war made it to his planet. “I just cleaned up the damn place,” he grumbles, but doesn’t make an issue of it.

He is Hulk; the strongest one, fueled by righteous anger, hailing from places and abuses he refuses to speak of to anyone. Not to his equally imposing and fierce wife, nor to his chaotic assembly of friends, not so different in their way from Adora’s own alliance.

He united kingdoms, he toppled a corrupt tyrant, and he resolved disputes eons in the making, and for all his ferocity, he gave the people of his home hope again. His green blood brings life to the dead world of Sakaar, his refusal to ever give up inspires the fierce people of Sakaar.

Adora supposes she can relate to him in some odd ways.

And then, there’s the Green King’s friend; a tall being, bearded and wild, bearing a broken hammer, his body horribly scared with something like snake’s venom, and missing a leg. He’s a nice guy; cheerful enough, friendly, wild as a storm and very prone to hugs.

His name is the sound of thunder. He is the storm itself.

And so, they learn something; the Red King was but a puppet piece for something older, a player of games, who has directed the last of the Horde here, for whatever strange game he then intends to play with their lives.

I watch She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. You wanna fight about it?

Apparently She-Ra is actually a spin-off of He-Man since the chick that turns into She-Ra (why is she not called She-Woman?) is the twin sister of the pleb that turns into He-Man. That doesn’t look to be the case in this show, which is doing its own thing. No Skeletor to be seen.

ANYWAY. There’s this evil group of evilness called The Horde, led by this fool called Hordak. One of their number - goes by the name of Adora - turns to the side of righteousness after finding a magic sword (it’s not actually magic, but it basically is magic) and fights against the Horde as an eight foot tall warrior goddess called She-Ra alongside her new best friends Glimmer and Bow (you’ll never guess what weapon he uses) and sometimes a few princesses but they’re mostly just side characters which is weird since this show is called “And the Princesses of Power” but they’re minor characters...and also sometimes a talking horse.

On the side of the Horde is Adora’s former BFF Cattra, and Cattra’s biggest fan / one-sided love interest, Scorpia. Also, a bunch of unimportant randos that used to be part of Adora and Cattra’s squad. Also Shadow Weaver, who was Hordak’s right hand woman, but then she switches teams and wants to kill Hordak now because Hordak is a dick.
