There are tons of problems with s5 and the show in general but the worst was catras character development and c*tradora

Also this is just a side note but the ship wasn't developed properly at all, even excluding all the abusive shit, they barely interacted throughout the show, and people like to point out the prom dance as a Gotcha but really aside from that one thing and the sometimes flirting what really was there? Honestly alot of the scenes had zero romance and fans just made it out to look like they had it just cuz they were too obsessed with the ship to see the scenes as anything else. Hell- even those official Every C*tradora Moment videos from DreamWorks aren't that long and some things just Aren't that romantic. It just violence between women being sexualized because we were taught to think it was sexy to see women fight and so Therefore It Must Be Romantic no really guys stop laughing

Adora the girl who got both physically and emotionally abused by Catra since childhood, the girl who had the goal and deam to find and rekindle with her family was forced by the narrative of the show to end up with Catra, her abuser.

She ra also relies on The disfigured and The disabled villain trope with both Shadow weaver and Hordak

Entrapta who is confirmed to be on the spectrum is unfairly treated by the friend squad, received more scorn and contempt than Catra herself who mind you almost destroyed the world and the reason Entrapa is treated like this implied if not outright stated because of her being on the spectrum.

firstly I just wanna say that ur completely valid to hate the show because of all this. ive ALWAYS knew about the problematic aspects of the show, the whole white savior trope being the one I hate most, but the thing is you’re allowed to like almost whatever u want as long as u acknowledge the fact that it has problematic elements and are just normal about liking it and all that
