The Banks Peninsula Zone Committee can meet for the usual monthly water administration meeting at Little River about Tuesday June 17, 2014.
The committee can consider a proposal to prioritise certain catchments plus websites in the zone for Immediate Steps freshwater biodiversity security project funding.
The committee might equally consider its priorities for Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour for the coming 12 months. The conversation is informed by observations created by committee members throughout a field trip inside May.
The inspirations have been prioritised up against the goals of the zone implementation programme. Four initiatives have been highlighted because the many relevant. They are:
Development of Ki Uta Ki Tai (within the mountains to the sea) security for streams flowing into Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour
Development of bird corridors in the Whakaraupō catchment
Promotion of the development of solutions to storm-water issues
Promotion of wise sediment control practice/methods.
