[Note]: A bunch of headcanons for our resident lion robot man, Banyue! He is a bit underappreciated and fics of him online are SCARCE. So I decided to make this as a tribute to him! Also, I know this is supposed to be a Genshin Impact focused blog, but I have free will, heh. And I also got into Zenless Zone Zero recently because of him! And I got inspiration to write today. Not a full blown fanfic yet, but it sparks enough inspiration, at least. ALSO, I have NOT done the main story for his arc/Yunkui Summit/Krampus Arc as I have just started a month ago, so there will be inaccuracies. Feel free to correct them and use my askbox!

✩ Since he has been trying to study modern colloquialisms (according to his trust event), he has tried to use them around his students. They always have to hold in the urge to laugh due to how funny it was just hearing those kinds of vocabulary come out of his voice box.

✩ ABSOLUTELY ADORES CATS. There is no denying it, even in his official art, he is seen with multiple cats in frame. Whenever he spots one roaming around, he will do the universal "pspspsps" until the cat struts its way towards them. He tries to be gentle to not scare them off, giving them gentle caresses, or if possible, food.

✩ A bit of a slow typer. Due to his fingers being large and metal, the phone screen sometimes fails to register what he's trying to type. You can name a few instances where he has sent you multiple weird messages that have no meaning, which lead you to be concerned. Only to find out a few minutes later he had been struggling to type things out on the screen. He also isn't too fond of texting and is more into meeting the person he's talking to in reality rather than virtually. Might be an exception when he genuinely just wants to see your face in a situation where he can't, and he tries to video call you to do just that.

✩ He loves exploring. Looking around, even when he can't feel some things, he at least loves the sight of it. Whether it be views from mountain peaks, a meadow of flowers, anything that breathed life, vibrance and color, he absolutely adores. Especially you.

✩ The best at consoling and comforting. He just absolutely knows what to say. Despite being built for fighting Miasma, the robot just seems to have his way with words. If you had a bad day, or just feel down, venting to him makes you feel better. Has accidentally made you burst into tears on one occasion since he was just way too good at comforting you. Was concerned and took you out to eat after.

✩ He doesn't say it out loud, but he is proud of every step his students take, and their determination to learn martial arts from him. He takes pride in them. He just doesn't like admitting that out loud, as it could cause them to be overconfident.

✩ Getting praise from him leaves warm feelings in your chest. He just has that effect and aura, despite looking like a giant intimidating robot. Just one praise from him basically melts your heart. He says it in such a gentle tone, too. It just adds to that effect.

✩ Thinks new discoveries and human literature are fascinating. You could literally tell him any fun fact and he would be amused. Never gets tired of them. Spends his free time reading books. Even tries to get you into it (which he successfully does, he's a good persuader).

✩ His tail has a habit of thrashing around a lot or thumping whenever he's excited. Though he rarely does this nowadays, there was one incident where he broke the pavement with just his tail because he was so happy to see you again after just a few days trip away from him. Yes he's clingy.

✩ When you asked him to do that hand comparison trend, you did NOT expect his hand to be way larger. You expected it to be large, but not THAT large. (Woah... This sounds... Sus... If it were out of context...)

✩ Was then confused at your surprise. "These fists are for protecting the innocent and striking the evil away. They are bound to be of this size. Is that a bad thing?"

✩ Bedazzling his mane and styling it is super fun. And he finds comfort and solace in your gentle massages and touches on his head, despite him not feeling it much, the thought is there.

✩ You have tried to kiss him or touch him in his Visage of Wrath state every time, and he tries to warn you "Do not touch my plating, it's scalding ho-" and scolds you every time you don't listen. "I... I just said so."

✩ Immediately treats your hand or your lips right after that with something cool. "Please, do not take my warning as something lightly next time. My Visage of Wrath state can be dangerous to touch."

✩ Love languages? Quality time and acts of service. HEAVY on those two. As well as physical touch, and tries not to hurt you so much whenever he would touch you.

✩ Sunset watching dates are his absolute favorite. There's no denying.

“Yeah, I guess so.. Another try won’t hurt now, will it?”

“Another try… as your first client being me, hopefully. Say Richter.. Would you show me around?”

“Are you serious…? Like DEAD serious???”

“I guess I need to give the Zone itself another try too.. Plus, the Ferris Wheel might just be waiting for me, no?”
