cassie, casian: i think thats the biggest link

casian initially goes to play a cracked minecraft copy (powered by nebulous), but when he goes to play it, footage of cassie plays. when he does get a legitamate copy of minecraft, he already has multiple worlds made, as if he had already played in them. its interesting that he initially goes for a mc copy if he already has actual minecraft. perhaps he forgot that he used to play it as a child? (when he was a girl?)

counterpoint: cassie and casian have different usernames (ca33erole and casianmc) i think i can explain this as an oddity due to nebula and its hijinks. perhaps when cassie forgot herself it resulted in her minecraft acc being forgotten too? which is why casian has to procure a new mc account?

to explain my theory, i think that casian is a trans man who as a (girl) child, encountered nebula and went through derealisation, eventually forgetting herself. this "lays the groundwork" of casian realising he is trans, but also causes him to repress a majority of his childhood. when casian goes back to minecraft, he goes to reconnect with his childhood self, causing him to remember things that he had repressed for a long time and reawakening his proclivity to derealisation and such. however, due to his stronger sense of self that he was granted due to being older and wiser (plus the people who commented on the vimeo!) casian is able to assure himself that he is real, but unable to connect with his childhood self in the way that he had hoped.

this interpretation does not rely on casian to have gone through the things that he did back as a child to realise he was trans, he would have always found out. the nebulous just resulted in him not being able to remember a significant portion of his childhood, and gave him a lot of mental turmoil.
