i think maybe the best part of tsftl is that its commentary on belief extends to the viewer too. the story changes depending if you do or do not believe in the leviathan. if you do, the story becomes about overcoming doubts and the power of faith, if you don't, the story follows wifies' exploration of faith v reasoning (via hummer and arronax's solutions) ending with wifies surrendering to faith and getting what he wanted

thinking about how Mew Mew Kissy Cutie in Undertale/Deltarune's universe is a copyrighted anime property. we've never met the "real" Mew Mew because there isn't one. she's a branded fictional character from an in-universe anime. both Mad Mew Mew from Undertale and Pink from Deltarune are NOT Mew Mew, they are at best abstractions or imitations of Mew Mew as interpreted by Maddie/Pink. even the darkner that spawns from Pink's body is not *actually* Mew Mew, it's just the flower shop dark world's interpretation of how a Mew Mew doll would act once given consciousness. I feel like it connects to Deltarune's deeper themes of narratives deriving from other narratives. Deltarune the game IS the legend IS Lord of the Hammer IS Dragon Blazers, and meanwhile they're all very different. A copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. Pink both IS and IS NOT Mew Mew. Mew Mew doesn't technically exist within Deltarune's world, we only vaguely know about the "real" Mew Mew as an in-universe character because these derivatives of her exist. we never watch Mew Mew Kissy Cutie, we just hear Alphys talk about it. a story told about a story we never get to see. every retelling slightly different. play with me in this space.
i don't really think hummer IS levi because i don't really think the leviathan is something that is a person with its own wants and feelings and motives. but hummer IS supernatural, like levi. (and like arronax she is also suspicious asf)
why i think casian is ftm trans:
cassie, casian: i think thats the biggest link
casian initially goes to play a cracked minecraft copy (powered by nebulous), but when he goes to play it, footage of cassie plays. when he does get a legitamate copy of minecraft, he already has multiple worlds made, as if he had already played in them. its interesting that he initially goes for a mc copy if he already has actual minecraft. perhaps he forgot that he used to play it as a child? (when he was a girl?)
cassie's mom locked her voice journal for 10 years - casian recalls this perfectly, and his mom does too
casian and cassie are linked even before casian gets the voice journal
counterpoint: cassie and casian have different usernames (ca33erole and casianmc) i think i can explain this as an oddity due to nebula and its hijinks. perhaps when cassie forgot herself it resulted in her minecraft acc being forgotten too? which is why casian has to procure a new mc account?
to explain my theory, i think that casian is a trans man who as a (girl) child, encountered nebula and went through derealisation, eventually forgetting herself. this "lays the groundwork" of casian realising he is trans, but also causes him to repress a majority of his childhood. when casian goes back to minecraft, he goes to reconnect with his childhood self, causing him to remember things that he had repressed for a long time and reawakening his proclivity to derealisation and such. however, due to his stronger sense of self that he was granted due to being older and wiser (plus the people who commented on the vimeo!) casian is able to assure himself that he is real, but unable to connect with his childhood self in the way that he had hoped.
this interpretation does not rely on casian to have gone through the things that he did back as a child to realise he was trans, he would have always found out. the nebulous just resulted in him not being able to remember a significant portion of his childhood, and gave him a lot of mental turmoil.
i think that it is important to make cassie remember that she is real in this interpretation of events because casian doesn't stop being cassie even when he grows into himself. he still loses cassie. its not like cassie grew into casian, its more like cassie died due to nebulous and casian was what grew out of that (as evidenced by how casian and cassie don't even share the slightest of similarities (casian likes blue, cassie likes green, casian doesn't like pumpkin pie where cassie does)). casian deserves to know who he was as a child and reconnect and cassie deserves to be a part of casians life.

Everybody noticed the lack of chat logs or server list evidence, never seeing him join or leave, how nobody else interacted with him and outright questioned Wifies 'we'.
Something I've not seen anybody mention about Hummer is that he also never reportedly built his own things. The boat was a tutorial. The sub was a tutorial.
Somebody that doesnt exist(?) Cannot come up with their own ideas. Or show up in chat or other logs. Or be seen by other players.

honestly i never even thought of the possibility of casian being mtf i initially thought he had repressed his entire childhood being a girl (cause of the nebula voice bank thing being with his mom)
