❝ come sit on the sand and watch the stars with me… ❞
"...Keh. I'm not really what you'd call the 'beach' type." He'd come here with a purpose.
To stand on the sand and watch the stars. Alone. What he'd said wasn't a lie, the ocean was a terrifying death trap. Not terrifying enough that Inuyasha wouldn't go out on boat, it wasn't like he hadn't faced horrific situations in his life without batting an eye. Just enough that he only chose the beach as a means of watching the endless expanse of sky, and sea.
For a lot of different personal reasons, really.
There wasn't really any reason to argue, though. Quinn hadn't done anything vindictive. For as quiet as he'd became during their last encounter, it wasn't because he couldn't handle being wrong. Brutal honesty was worth more than ten million pretty lies, he would have asserted his own viewpoints just as much if he were misunderstood. Definitely not as verbose, but the point stood.
The flash of a reminder. Of being talked to like that because you didn't understand someone's words, well... maybe those were the memories that had made him shut down, rather than fight back.
Without anything else said, bare feet pressed into the cool sand. It was impossible to be fully silent on a beach, just as it was in snow. Wet sand made soft nose that grass didn't. Then Inuyasha sat, not directly next to, but not far away from Quinn.
In came the deep breath of rich, salty air through those nostrils. A breath he held a few seconds, to catch every note he'd picked up, followed by a quiet exhale. The man was seated properly, legs folded, his hands in his lap.
