the dress post...I saw something explaining it that was basically people see it as the different colors based on what lighting situation they perceive the picture to be. so like if you see it as a washed out dark dress with bright stuff going on in the corner it's black/blue & if you see it as backlit then it's white/gold. and that's why people are able to change it and little things like monitor differences and angles probably affect your original perception.
I'm thinking that's part of it too! Like using context clues within the image itself to determine the actual color of the dress--thank you for wording that so wellĀ
So right now, the best guess I have based on a lot of the (very insightful) input I've gotten is that it's probably a) monitor differences, b) perceptual differences in how the lighting in the image works, c) limitations in language and comparison of perception, and d) a shitty imageĀ
okay so this was a request, kind of, and i have been procrastinating sort of so here goes. My brother is 13 i think and about to turn 14, again I'm not really sure because honestly the only birthday that matters is mine, and he has had about 5 or 6 girlfriends over the past school year and a half alone. I don't understand it at all he is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gross and yet the girls seem to like him. His most recent girlfriend was named Esme and he broke up with her a couple months back but stillllll this is ridiculous i mean honestly if all of these girls only knew what he was like at home. As a boyfriend however he seems to be really sweet actually so i don't understand why he cant be nice to me his one and only sister. He has gotten each girlfriend gifts and been really nice to most of them it seems but he just ugh its infuriating because he is so annoying and yet apparently not and all i want is to understand why he is so popular. Anyways the other day I saw him go behind a yogli mogli with one of his friends, Nathaniel, and for a second I thought that they might be dating now but I don't think so because I think Nathaniel has a thing for carboncavy's sister or something. I don't know what I do know however is that you cannot take a tennis ball away from a cat after you have given it to said cat covered in catnip it is adorable to watch but don't try and get it back you willl just end up getting hurt.
