I KNOW and I mean like, it’s not even just h/c tropes related, like it’s a parto f their character development too, like once they’re separated Merry has to learn to let go a bit and allow Eowyn to help him and take care of him before/during the battle, while Pippin has to just - think and acts and he goes ahead and disobeys Denethor and saves Faramir and it’s so painful but also they’re both grown for it in the end and I love it and I love Eowyn and Faramir too but that’s another set of Emotions

ok so i wanted to make a lil post that i read about this one fic called “this is our fate, i’m yours (and yours and yours)” by @captainpeggys i read last weekend but did not have time to leave a good review (though i left kudos.. it’s a damn shame you can’t leave more than one because i definitely would’ve left like 50 lol).
annnnyways, i am an absolute H O E for the whole “soulmate au” thing as well as the ot4 relationship concept and i just have to say... the author did an A M A Z I N G job of incorporating both. i was a bit leery of how both ideas were going to fit together, but holy shit the story flowed so well and i absolutely adored the characters they created. i feel like the relationship between calum & luke was portrayed so nicely and i was literally like (✿◠‿◠) anytime i read anything about their dynamics. and then.. like, when michael just fit in so seamlessly with them, i just .. . (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ !!!!!! and then and then and tHEN when ashton was so apprehensive about being with them and accepting his fate (haha bc look @ me using a title reference) made me so ಥ_ಥ (but also secretly (◕‿◕✿) bc i love angst). the “slow burn” fucking sucked but was also deliciously executed.
(alsooooo, the addition of halsey/ashley, the boys of atl (the jalex house i CRYYY), the 1d boys, and i feel like i’m forgetting some but ???? were sooo !!!!!!! frick okay i loved that.)
basically if you guys r into slash fic & reading stuff on ao3, “this is our fate, i’m yours (and yours and yours)” is a MUST READ.
