Captain Alexander Hamilton lives rent free in my head
And yet another unfinished sketch. Have some Pirate Captain Hamilton this go round (go read @skyetheesorceress ‘s fic!)
Don’t let the angle fool you… he’s still 5’7…
Don't you love it when you're not done writing your main series yet, but yet ANOTHER spin-off idea forms in your head on a random Tuesday?
Yeah, me too.
The urge to create another Scrivener file and start outlining is strong. 😭

I desperately need a fun distraction from the very bad weekend I had. Below is a list of some of my future projects. Pick your favorite and I’ll tell you a bit about the project that wins the poll.
Note that all of these fall into the lovely historical fiction genre.
Which of these projects sounds interesting?
Whiskey Rebellion series
The adventures of a disabled Civil War POW who escapes prison
Novel following one of Hamilton’s artillery company officers
Series following Eliza Hamilton hunting for her husband’s papers
Novel about the Mayflower passengers during their Atlantic crossing
Duology about Aaron Burr’s western escapades
Alt history imagining if the Quasi-War with France escalated
May remove this later as it’s not directly tied to The American Icarus, just my research, but I felt comfortable enough sharing here:
Met with one of my Early Americanist history professors the other day to discuss adding an independent research course to my final semester. They approved me to write something on Alexander Hamilton’s artillery company, so I’m very excited. But what I definitely wasn’t expecting to come out of this meeting was my professor’s comment that they thought I was “shaping up to be the [next] predominant Hamilton scholar.”
Highest compliment I have ever received, hands down. And if you were wondering, yes, my face turned bright red in response.
Happy holidays! Here’s a full chapter of The American Icarus: Volume I just for you:
TAIVI Chapter 40 Excerpt | Grace H. Osborn
Subject for revision, of course, but with the progress I’ve made lately, I felt a little celebration was in order.
Hope you enjoy!
