Killian: Since when is babysitting Baelfire my job-

Killian: Oh my god, that's exactly my job

Summary:Ā āSo ā you remembered.ā
Notes:Ā ...someone tempted me. And I have zero self-control LOL, so hereās some Hookfire. This is a follow-up to the first one-shot in this series, which obviously provides the context. But basically it's Neal digging up, per Emma's request, his old habit of telling the stories behind constellations to help them fall asleep. Those stories he learned from Hook, who is listening and has a bit of a "WTF" moment. So this fic has them talk about it as they are leaving Neverland.
.
.
Killian hasnāt exactly been keeping a close eye on him, but ā the urge to ask has been lurking in the back of his mind in every quiet moment, all too insisting for what is supposed to be such an irrelevant matter.
So he remembered one of his stories, what of it?
It is surprising, considering that they didnāt leave each other on anywhere nearly amicable terms, so even if he somehow remembers it, after a couple of centuries, why would he so easily recall it, like itās a fond memory?
Itās ā itās curiosity, thatās what it is.
Regardless of that curiosity, though, they havenāt spent much time around each other, not without more important matters to tend to, so the occasion to ask doesnāt present itself until Baelfire makes his way to the deck, leaning over the edge to take a look at the island that they are leaving behind.
(Killianās legs twitch, and he can still hear himself shout at him that if he were to fall overboard heād leave him for the fish to dine with.)
āFucking finally,ā Baelfire breathes out, turning back towards him. He walks closer. āDo you need me to take a turn?ā
It takes a few moments for Killian to even realize that heās talking about taking the helm, but then heās quick to shake his head. āNo, I got it.ā
āAlright,ā Baelfire shrugs, moving as if to walk past him.
Which would probably be the right moment to ā
āSo ā you remembered.ā

Killian: I failed...
Neal: It was a team effort, asshole.

Killian, to Bae: I have total faith in you.
Killian, aside to Smee: There's like a 30% chance he'll die.
Neal: I'm sorry, but this time I can't do what you say.
Killian: What do you mean "this time"?! You've never done what I've said since you've been alive!

Summary:Ā Five times Hook messes up the whole stepfather thing. (And one time he sets things right. Or tries to.)
Notes:Ā So. guess who was having Hookfire feels, for a change? This contains some Hook&Henry (although it's not exactly about the two of them per se), and mentions of Emma/Hook when it appears in canon, because the story follows the canonical events up until the s3 finale, but they eventually break up amicably. S4 is completely ignored, let's pretend like there was no Elsa at the end and Marian was actually Marian (which doesn't even come up in this fic because Hook couldn't care less about Regina's love life, but still). Enjoy!

The first time is massive and messy, the situation spinning out of control before he can even realize how quickly they are headed for destruction.
Baelfire wasnāt meant to find out about Milah, not like this, not when he had the time to get riled up before Killian could even get a word in, attempt to explain that he has loved his mother dearly and never meant to hurt either one of them.
(If heās being honest, though, he doesnāt even know when he planned to tell him. Things were way too serene for him to risk shattering it all.)
Baelfire yells and cries, spits out venom like heās suddenly become his fatherās son, and Killianās edges are way too sharp for him not to retaliate.
He wonāt be abandoned, he wonāt be rejected. If Baelfire doesnāt care for him enough to listen, Killian doesnāt care enough to protect him against his own selfish interests. That is how it works, a pirateās life for you, my boy.
You donāt point a sword at your captainās throat and expect to survive to tell the tale.
(Still, he begs to be given a second chance, up until the last minute. He begs, and he hopes, and it gets thrown in his face.)
(Itās no matter, he tells himself, he needs Baelfire even less than Baelfire needs him.)
Ā Ā The second time, he somehow manages to sink even lower.
