Just a Taste { closed with cantstoplookingaterik }
Erik was drawing closer to his intended prey. He had made an evening of it, of watching the human man as he moved. Watching his interactions with other humans, catching his scent on the air like a hound. The pub was insanely crowded for some sort of game night, but Erik never lost sight of him. Pale skin, bright blue eyes and a ringing laugh; the vampire took in every detail, waiting until the man stood on his own. This was when Erik made his move winding his way through clusters of warm bodies, ignoring their melodious heartbeats and the sweet scent of their blood. He had chosen whom he wanted to taste and nothing would sway his determination. His dark clothing--long black coat and slacks--accentuated the paleness of his skin and yet very few would know the vampire for what he was. Unless Erik wanted them to.
"You look lonely," he said just loud enough to be heard over the steady din of voices once he had reached his quarry. Now standing within touching distance of the human the scent of him was almost overwhelming. Like having one's favourite sweet treat within reach.
