Today was a day of discovery. It started out just like a normal, ordinary day. Then I discovered what it felt like to get pushed over the line of my breaking point. The weeks of exhaustion, lack of sleep, frustration, being out of my regular routine and the discomfort that creates for a control freak like me and feeling like a failure all came to a peak and exploded. Crying and yelling at myself while vacuuming. Yeah that happened. Then I got an unexpected visitor that got to witness my mess, luckily he still loves me, but maybe now realizes that it is hard and I do struggle and need help with things, even if I don't like to ask for it. Then I discovered my inner strength in that moment of weakness. I was able to overcome and shut down the very loud negative self talk. I realized that as moms, we gotta stop pretending everything is all rainbows and unicorn farts. This mom thing gets hard sometimes and we don't always have it all together and it's ok to admit that.
